Only a few more weeks before my son comes home and as most of you know I have been building his Jeep up since he's been gone. The XJ has gone through some changes which include,

6.5" Rockrawler longarm suspension (Desertfab)

Currie Dana 44 w/Detroit Locker & 33 spline Chromoly shafts, 4.56 gears (Nick Former POR & Desertfab)

Dana 30 w/ARB locker, chromoly shafts, LCA skids, Crane diff cover (Good Ole Dad & 4Wheeler's Supply)

FlowMaster exhaust & Cat (Apache Muffler)

35" Goodyear MTR's (Good Ole Dad again)

It's been in the shop for the past month and a half getting an excocage/internal cage, new custom front bumper, spare tire mount and new seats up front Here's a sneak peak of what it looks like so far.

The cage will be taken completly off, then fully welded and painted black. I think it would look great against any color XJ.:)

Well, I will let the cat out of the bag. I am the one doing the build on Mike's (desertdawgs) XJ.

trlr8td, shnipe, terron, digger and oc1, thanks for the kind remarks.

Well, back to work, got a deadline to make with this build :D

Anyone interested in getting any work done just shoot me a pm.

Terron, I will get you a pm coming with some pricing for you, and see about setting up time to get together to go over everything on your jeep.

Thanks again :D

Awesome exo. I think that is one of the coolest exos I have seen. It looks like the only thing not protected is the doors, so you know those are going to be the first things to get smashed. But then you can just cut them off.:D

My thoughts exactly but he still needs to be able to drive it daily and it's unknown where he will be stationed when he gets back to the states. I have convinced him though to remove the doors for wheeling.

That should work. Maybe you can get Mike to make a piece of removable tubing to protect where the doors meet in the middle. I think they make tube clamps that are in the shape of a T that clamp the tubing with allen bolts. That way if anything happens, it should hit the tube, protecting the door jam. Then he could take the piece off and put the doors back on.

Hey that's a good idea! Never thought of that.

Update!

The outside cage and front bumper are complete. Mike did an awesome job and worked his butt off to get it done by the time my son got home.

My son got home this morning and it was like Christmas day for him. He loved it! The last time he saw his XJ it was sitting on 31" tires and a 3.5" lift.

We still have the interior to do and that will be done after he leaves.

Thanks again Mike for all the hard work you did and making my son a very happy XJ owner!

The sliders are all welded to the rockers and frame providing extra stiffening.
The inside tube is double walled for extra strength.

Yeah it was most likely my son since we live in that neck of the woods. I always see you around Power and Mcdowell area, but I'm usually in my truck.:)
