It reminds me of the old Jeep P/UP trucks like the one in the movie "Twister" and I wonder if the frame extensions would be needed for an Unlimited.

That is *****en for sure. More than likely it is the same length as the new four door as I far as I can see. As for today all retro throw backs are in. bring out the bell bottums next.

I did some more searching and apparently this is old news for anyone who follows Chrysler's R/D and prototypes.
More info can be found here:

Heck, with a diagonal rollbar in the bed and you'll essentially end up with back looking something like this... :-)

Yah - the Brute has been around for some time. I love 'em! But for the cost to convert a TJ, something like $11k... I can do a lot more to my Jeep.

The brute coversion is sick!!!! I know the guys at AEV ( www.aev-conversions.com )These guys do amazing work, better than oem fit and finish. I am running their Highline fenders, like the brute has in the pics (not included $8,999. We are most likely become a AEV dealer when they get the NTh line up back up and running. I also met them in person at EJF 2007, very profesional and inertesting to talk to. Hopefully we are going to hang out at Sema 2007;)

More searching revealed this called the Gladiator. I for one would love to see the comeback of Jeep Pickups.

If jeep came out with a pickup, I would do whatever I could to buy one. Sell both my cars and go into debt. :D

The Gladiator concept has been around for a while, and is based on the new JK. If you really wanna do some cool research, check out ALLPAR.com - All Dodge Chrysler & Jeer.

The gladiator would be cool but all you chuckle heads would have to get a different bed because your 37", 39" or 40" tires would not fit into that spare tire pocket of the side. :D
