Hello everyone!

I’m New to the board and wanted to take a minute and say “Hi”

I’ve done a lot of wheeling, having owned a ’74 bronco and most recently a ’74 Blazer.

While both of these were great fun, I guess as I get older, I’m looking for something more “Civilized” to wheel in…….I know….I’m a traitor but I’m tired of having to work on something all week just to go out and beat the poop out of it on the weekend.

I am looking to purchase a Jeep so if you know of anyone selling a CJ, YJ or XJ for $5000.00 or less, please let me know. I would prefer a CJ or YJ as I love wheeling without a top. Once I buy one, I look forward to getting out with some of you guys and enjoying some great wheeling! :)

On a side note, the ’74 blazer is for sale.

Thanks!

Andrew

Welcome, there are a ton of Jeeps for sale around here, do a search in Google and you will find plenty. Just be warned, a $5000 Jeep will eventually cost you $10,000 or more, just playing around with them can be addictive.....

you're probably still going to be working on it a lot if you wheel...I know with my '05 I find myself working on it weekly for my weekend trips.

Thanks for the positive greetings!

I know 5K is on the low side to "Buy in" but as you all mentioned, upgrade and repair adds up quickly.......I just hope not to quickly :)

Thanks again!

XJs are pretty cheap and you can find some pretty nice ones that are built around that price range. Then you can just hack the top off and put in a cage.

The cheapest part of jeepin is buying the jeep. Then the fun starts. If you can, buy one someone else has done the basics ( tires wheels lift.....). Welcome...good luck!

We are in the same boat. So far I haven't spent as much fixing up the Jeep in relations to actually buying the Jeep, but I am getting close.

With the 74s that you've owned....why break the trend? Get a 74 CJ!

Yeah you know how often we get asked that question. Someday I'm going to call them and ask them to move into a cooler business like Rocket Science or car dealerships. Just something other than eggs.

Wait your people don't happen to hail from Arkansas do they?
