Maybe it's time to start a new public perception of
the "Greenies." Isn't it time that WE became the "Greenies": the
people who actually *think* about the environment; and care about it
in its current state, and its future? We may wear red shirts to
prevent being confused for a fascist freak, but I love the wilds of
this entire country as much as anyone, and certainly more than many.

I am sure that there are tons of replies to this one, but I
really don't want to read anything negative in light of all of the
positive actions we, as a club, are undertaking as of late. I can
count on two fingers the people that I am sure will reply to this,
and I'll bet you know who will have something stupid to say, too...
:) LOL!

I just remembered that every Target store has an allotment of money to
donate the way they see fit for the community. When I used to coach Pop
Warner they were extremely nice in shelling out $100 with out an hassle.
Everyone should stop by their local Target, ask to talk to the store manager
and see if they will lend a hand with a donation. If nothing else see if
they could maybe donate water, diapers or whatever. I don't remember them
every asking for tax numbers either. They have always been good about
helping. I will go to the one on Warner & Arizona Ave.

so here is where i'm at with the decals.....and am i tired....been
lots going on and not alot of time...the reason that chediski fire
was not added is cause i would have lost too much time...each
sticker is taking about 5 minutes to weed( vinyl term, means
removing all the negative parts of the sticker...and that is done by
HAND...and my hands are sore..) and if i had chediski added i would
have lost too much time re-setting up the cutter...i sure hope that
people would understand that this is for the whole fire and not just
one part...the sticker count should be about...white=43, black=37,
red=36, yellow=26 for a total of around 142.....thats if i can get
all the final weeding done...yesterday i was lucky enough to have
some people help setting up the decals....if you see a color that
you want i would show up early to the meeting spot because the only
thing we can do is first come first served...we plan to be there
about an hour early...we will be asking for at least a $5.00
donation, if you want to give more great...at that time you will get
to vote on where you want the money to go....we will do it the
american way...and who ever wins the vote gets the money....does
that sound fair? till then i'll be working on these, and see all you
there...

The only shelter that is up there (that I know of) is run by the Red
Cross. They are in charge of all the donations there and the
shelters. The high school is where it is at in the large green
building.

JoeW asked a VERY good question. The only place they have to take donations
has been right as you come into town on the left at the old feed store. It
looked pretty wound down this morning.
I will stop and ask on my way home from Mesa. Many of the people are gone
since they have found places to go to. Some are still at the school but not
nearly as many as last week.

I am back in the Valley tomorrow morning but will be back up at home by 1pm
or so and can do some more checking if you need me to.

Hi Gang,

If you haven't purchased the stuff for the Payson run, I'd recommend that we
stick to items needed by the fire fighters and/or the humane society. I'd
hate to have the majority of the stuff be for displaced residents who are no
longer displaced...

I think if you look at the list of needed supplies, it will be obvious which
items are needed by the fire fighters and the humane society.
