Hi everyone,
Monday afternoon my 98 Jeep TJ was stolen from Deer Valley Airpark. It is a hardtop with passenger rear window only one not tinted (from the last scumbag that broke in!) It is deep amethest (dark purple) has a 2.5" inch lift, Antera 17" powder coated grey rims, and Nitto TerraGrapplers. If you guys could keep an eye out for it I would really appreciate it. I miss it so much. If you see it please e-mail me at az_thor@hotmail.com or call me (Neil) at 602-619-5353 or call the Police at 602-262-6151 (not that they will do much). The more eyes the better. Also if you see parts of it for sale please let me know.
Thank-you so much for your help,
Neil

Sorry to hear about your Jeep!! I will keep my eyes peeled for it. My folks live up that way, I will let them know to look out for it also. License number would help to, but they may have switched the plate.

Lil bass turds.... Why can't people leave well enough alone? I'm actually SHOCKED that some P.O.S. doesn't want to work for what he thinks he needs to run CRAP across the border. I say we open a hunting season on those SOME BEACHES...

The License # is 830-BMY. I am sure it has been switched, but you never know. Thieves are not the brightest people. Will get pics tonight. There was also a baby seat in the back.
Thank-you all so much for your help!

This sucks. Is it time to have a security seminar? It seems that about every other month someone loses their jeep. I am sure that some of them end up in chop shops, some are stolen on order and some go south of the border. And I suspect that others here have some new ideas about what happens to them. Certainly the police are mostly ineffective when this happens. They are reactive to this problem and we as a group need to be proactive with security measures. Anything that will slow them down is good. The casual thief is pretty easy to defeat, it is the pro who is a bit tougher, but the longer it takes to get the jeep moving, the more likely someone is to notice...just my thought. Kill switches are a good thing, the club is a good thing, switching spark wires is a good thing, all are vulnerable. The guy to be afraid of is the fellow with the big flatbed trailer who pulls up in the parking lot with a legitimate looking logo on the side and hauls your jeep up onto the bed and drives away. There may be a way to deal with that too. :)

I agree with Jack, but I think it IS time for a security seminar...

This is a picture of what my rims look like. They are very rare on a Jeep, I had them custom drilled. Thank-you all so much for keeping an eye out.

YES WE DO NEED THIS!! I had mine stolen about two months ago! I will come back to Az for that if it includes some wheelin!
Some stuff I learned;
I did not get reimbursed for contents unless I made a claim on homeowners insurance. (i.e. CD's, change in the dash tray, etc...) They said clothing was covered with my auto policy. (?)
As long as you prove what you had on it (hardtop, rims, seats, rock sliders, etc) the stuff will get replaced with refurbished / used stuff. The custom fabbed stuff will get replaced probably by you and the price will be taken off of your deductible. I had a custom rear bumper and swing out carrier that I could not replace, so I bought a cheapy and they took it off of my deduct. It sucks because I really liked the other one!

Good Luck brother! I know what your feeling!

I typed a long dissertation about how I feel about these thieving crackhead moron $0B's that don't deserve the oxygen it takes to keep them alive and when I went to post it went to the INTERNET netherworld.

I hope you get your rig back.

I hope the person that stole it suffers a fate worse than death!!

I hope some day they open hunting season on thieves, I know in my dreams!! :D

Does anybody have any suggestions on where my Jeep or parts might get sold? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
I am starting to lose hope in ever seeing it again.
Thanks,

What? I would say also to check Craigslist. It seems to be the new listing for chopshoppers...

I too would like a kill switch seminar!

lost a truck once to a thief, who stole the nice rims and tires I'd just put on it, and burned the rest to the ground. a painful memory.

had another truck that was targeted for complete good-bye... but I'd installed a kill-switch that disabled the fuel system. The pro had the column cracked open, the ignition on, the starter cranked... but to no avail. The pro was even familiar with the remote starter system I'd installed, and the layout of my fusebox (he bypassed the kill feature of the remote by removing the brake light fuse)... but to no avail. So having run out of time and patience (it was broad daylight in a busy Walmart parking lot) he stole everything he could carry... deck, amp, cd's, speaker box, even the stuff I'd just bought my daughter from ToysRUs. but the truck was still there.

so all in all, I'd second that a fate worse than death should fall upon THIEVES.

will keep an eye out here on the West side... and knowing what those rims look like might make finding part, or all of your rig possible... who knows.
