The feeling we will get by active participation in helping others....
priceless.

The feeling that the hundreds of people who see us as we travel to
Payson will get... priceless.

The memories our children will get by seeing us set an example of
community service... priceless.

The stereotypes of four wheelers that we are publicly breaking...
priceless.

No matter what fuel costs and no matter how much carbon monoxide we
produce... it is a drop in the bucket compared to the costs and
pollution that this fire is causing.

I (among others) will miss you not attending Scott, but you have
outlined your reasons well and I'm sure that everyone respects them. I
feel however, that this run is a case where logic need not apply.

When I am on my deathbed Scott, It is likely that I won't remember a
single cash donation that I ever gave to anyone... but I guarantee you,
I will remember this run. My children will remember this run, and I
guarantee you... every person who sees our caravan to Payson will
remember that the only thing virtual about the Arizona Virtual Jeep Club
is the name.

Thanks for taking the time to do these calculations... it is interesting
to see how much cash we have to spend to make some priceless memories
for ourselves and others.

Kind Regards,

Joe West

Troy called me last night and offered a gift certificate for raffle.
He is donating a $500 gift certificate for parts or services, for a
$5 raffle to be done at the meeting location in Fountain Hills. All
the proceeds collected from the raffle will be donated to the relief
effort. I will handle the raffle when I get there Saturday morning.
LETS GET MORE PARTICIPANTS! This is a very generous donation and I
thank Troy tremendously for his offer. He cannot bring his Jeep up,
but has offered truck and trailor for anyone that needs assistance if
they break down and need to be towed home. Thanks Troy! This
definately is a big help for our cause.

So if others are holding people up then that will be OK as long as I am

Wow! I would have to agree with David on this one. The Red Cross wants
to
present the appearance that they are the end all. Only they can
generate
help, and only they can dispurse help. Last night on the news they were
showing where the Red Cross took over a shelter and wouldn't let the
locals
help out. It's kind of alarming for a volunteer group to get so power
hungry. Oh well, lets go up there and show our support!

I am a Military firefighter in Tucson. As far as I know to help out as a
wildland firefighter in Arizona you need to have an International Fire
Service Accreditation (IFSAC) for firefighter I and II. which include
wildland firefighting in the certification. Also you need to have several
hours of hands on training as well. I am not 100% sure so correct me if I am
wrong, but this is the information I got from my department and also the Mt.

Right on! Just the awesome sight of all of us traveling up there for them would be worth it. Think of the boost in morale it will provide to see so many people are thinking of them.

I hope that people that don't have a lot money will still come. IF you can afford the gas, that is support enough!!!!!

Hi all, I don't have money to buy alot of stuff to bring up. It is also short notice for me to collect stuff at work. If anyone has too much stuff I would love to be able to help out. I've got the whole back seat to use. So please let me know if you need some extra room. Thanks... Adrian

John's Jeep is getting repaired. I talked to him yesterday (we've
talked alot and he wants to do a run with us soon) and he told ne
that he couldn't bring his Jeep. He is trying to see if he can get
out and ride along with me. I'll call him and see about the shirts.
