Hi Keith,
I have only seen two lifted S-10s (S-15?) that were lifted. One had a solid
axle conversion and the other looked like a combo suspension lift and body
lift. The solid axle conversion had a ford Ranger TTB front axle transplant. I
suppose that's the easiest way since the Fords use coils on the front. The one
with the suspenson-body lift combo is parked regularly on Country Club in a
little office building across from Shep's Diner.
My suggestion (which might be a little outlandish) is to do what I did with my
Geo Tracker. Skidplate the underside as much as possible and go for it!

The first part you have been on and you can

I'm as familiar with s-series pickups as I am Jeeps, but you can gain a little lift by cranking in the torsion bars, of course this also stiffens the ride alot and it's only worth maybe an inch. The springover in the rear will probably net you over 4-5" of lift which is quite a bit out of the 2" range.
If your on a budget do a 2" body lift. Otherwise a good suspension lift for an independent front/ leafsprung rear will run well over $1000 dollars for the parts.
Good luck, maybe you can convince him he should sell the GMC in favor of a Jeep ;)

Hello everyone,
My son has a friend that owns a GMC S-15, and he want to lift the thing 2 inches. I can do a spring over axle lift in the rear. This I have done on many other vechiles, Jeeps, Suzuki, Chevy(full size), etc. But on the front of the S-15 there is a whole different set up that I have never worked with before. I am not sure what all it involves. Is there a large expense if one does this procedures themselves? What kind of time and material does one need? I know that this is a jeep page, but the young man is a growing four-wheeler, and he needs someone to look up to like us (XJ Jeepers), Ha Ha!! If anyone could help me help him I would appreciate it very much. I have tried the web, fourwheel magazine, etc. with no luck. Any help would be appreciated.

I need some info. The areas that you go wheeling are they private lands,
public lands (ohv areas),etc. I am working on an Idea that is of interest
to
all offroaders at large. I am going to be contacting other clubs for
their
input to my idea also. I have been looking and reading about the closure
of
so many of our public use lands, that I think that Big Brother is going
over
board. These are public lands, our land and we help take care of a large
number of these areas through our clubs. I want to bring some of these
lands
into our control.
Let me know what you think.
Thanx

Moe,
I agree with you. We as four wheelers (responsible ones I mean{AZ_VJC}),
do take pride in our outdoors. And it is important that "Big Brother", and
anyone else knows of our concerns and rules. I know that there are some
others that aim to destroy with no regard to tomorrow, and this seems to be
the only picture that "Big Brother" looks at. The word needs to spread that
the greater population of Four Wheelers takes great concern in our outdoors.
I do have some time to help, (not allot), but I need to be helping in some
way , for I feel strongly about this issue and could not feel right if I
didn't contribute something. Let me know what I can help with!!
Thanks,

I think Jeffrey and Scott gave pretty good
directions and descriptions. Do not get scared off
if anyone is a stocker! I can take a group in
"The side door" There is lots of wheeling in this area
(Redington) but this run is just to get out of town
and relax with some water and friends. Hope to see some

Keith,
It depends what year, from what I understand of the S-trucks. On the
recent model years, I don't know of much available since Chevy/GMC has
their own ZR2 package. Just remember when checking out the ads, to look
for same-year S-10 lifts as well.
Check with 4 Wheeler Supply on Washington. They can probably point you
in the right direction.

Lifts to the S-15 (or Chevy S-10) are available, but are expensive, in part, I think, because GM uses a torsion bar for the front suspension. I had a Blazer, and looked into lifting it, and found one at Fly-N-High, but passed on it because of the cost. As I recall it was over $2k. You could give them a call and see what's available. If you do it yourself, it should certainly be cheaper.

Subject: [az_vjc] Lift kit
Thanks,
Keith (Casper)

Hi Ed! Quite a picture. Glad there was no damage. We did a run last week
where someone turned on their side, but also no damage. The brush cushioned
his fall, so to speak. Which trail were you doing?

Hi Keith,
I have only seen two lifted S-10s (S-15?) that were lifted.

Thanx
Moe

Moe,
I agree with you.

Hope to see some
Phoenicians down here!

Keith,
It depends what year, from what I understand of the S-trucks. On the
recent model years, I don't know of much available since Chevy/GMC has
their own ZR2 package. Just remember when checking out the ads, to look
for same-year S-10 lifts as well.
Check with 4 Wheeler Supply on Washington. They can probably point you
in the right direction.

Hello Bill,
Welcome aboard!! I know that you will be very impressed with the
people. I have been a member for about 2 months now, and the people are
excellent! I haven't had a chance to go out on an adventure yet , due to the
fact that my XJ is down for rebuilds, but while doing the rebuild they have
helped me greatly with information and advice. Looking forward to meeting
you. This group has a positive traction attitude! (No negative slip).

Hi Ed! Quite a picture. Glad there was no damage. We did a run last week
where someone turned on their side, but also no damage. The brush cushioned
his fall, so to speak. Which trail were you doing?
