So I walked out today to get in the jeep and start it and noticed there was glass all over the passenger side floor. I looked up and saw the (vent window?) broken. I didnt even notice my stereo had been yanked from the dash :(

Long story short a cop came out and took a police report of what happend. I'm going to ask around tonight and see if my neighbors saw anything. Whats amazing is they didnt take the CB radio in plain view or my CD wallet packed with CD's in the back. Wtf?:mad:

New window
$180
New unit
$200+
New dash
??? Crysler/Jeep says their not made anymore

They busted mine 2 weeks ago, but didn't take anything I think the alarm scared them. Just my luck, whenever the XJ is out of my possession a window gets broke. Luckily I have 1 last spare wing window. Just be glad it wasn't the rear small window. That is a pain and it cost more. And you shouldn't be paying more then $75 for a window, last time I had to buy one is was around $45 at a junkyard.

That really sucks man, sorry to hear that. I hate how people can't earn $$$ for their own stuff and find the need to steal everyone elses s**t!!:mad: I had almost the same exact thing happen to me when I lived in Phx. They broke in through the little vent window and stole my system in the back, in my own driveway!

It could be worse...your rig could be gone.

Sucks man. I had my duster cut last weekend. There were two other cars with busted windows in my apartment complex that same night.

http://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b357/neZZr/duster_cut_2.jpg

Back in high school I had a whole system stolen from my car. Instead of busting out the window, they tore the locks right out of the drivers door and trunk lid... had to have a body shop to fix that. I'd almost rather they bust the window so I can just get a junkyard replacement and put it in myself. :(

That reallly sucks. I have been SO lucky (knocking on wood as we speak). Only time I noticed anything was leaving a friends house one night. got in my Jeep drove all the way home, got out and walking in i noticed my high-lift jack handle dangling down. someone had cut my lock on it but i guess i walked out in time before they could unscrew the nuts to take it.. scary thinking they might have been right there... but im a packing chick so id of just shot thier stealing butts! :D

I agree about the window. It's better to have your window busted than your doors all bent up. I replaced my lock tumblers with carriage bolts. They won't be pulling those off anytime soon.

Ooooo, I like you!!!!;):D You go girl!

Sorry to hear about your jeep bro. I got my duster taken right in the MCC parking lot back in 96/97, right in front of there lil' cutsie police building. Worst of all, I remember parking next to a "beater" jeep when I pulled up.... It was gone when I got out of class, so was my duster....

Well you can be sure I learned my lesson about that! I wasnt parking it in the garage for awhile because of the CB antenna on top. But if it means this, I will deffinately be getting up there every evening to pull it off. Man I cant believe it

Man, oh man, oh man. That it whey ghey! I feel your pain though. I had 2 pioneer Decks stolen from my 97 XJ. Once was while I was in a movie, they smashed my rear 1/4 window and unlocked the door. They took my stereo and my cell phone(which as a good citizen, I left in the truck as a courtesy). Thank God the dumba** didn't look in the back though, cause he would have found a gun that'd got him 5X as much at a pawn shop, not to mention other stuff like a CB, I-pod, and AMMO. Then, this year, my stereo got jacked in front of my house. I wish these theives would do a little research on how to remove a dash easier than cutting it. My Bezel got destroyed, when all he had to do was lift from the bottom, and Voila! Instant stereo access in half the time. I did make it easier that time though, and didn't lock my passenger door.:o
Steal THIS HAHAHAHA!

That's true... could have been worse. When my first car was broken into back in highschool they cut all the wires to the radio. Took me a few hours with a multimeter to figure out what was what. :(

When working at a job the guy who I was working with went outside for a smoke & heard his truck trying to be started. The guys took off & when the guy who I worked with was cleaning out the truck to take into the repair shop he found a cell phone in it that wasn't his. The idiots had left it behind & when the police were looking at the numbers saved they started laughing. One of the numbers said DAD. I think they might have got the POS.:D

This reminds me of back home. A friend of mine had kind of a suped-up Honda Accord. You know exhaust system with speakers and rims body kit tinted windows, etc. Anyway he was living in an apartment at the time and one night he went outside for a smoke. He heard his car start up and drive off, he was running after it and they sped off through the parking lot and drove away. A few weeks later the cops called him, they found it in Seattle- apparantly some mexican guys stole it, took the stereo and speakers out and jumped the car off a ramp right into a telephone pole. Talk about bastage

Sorry to hear about the damage and missing stereo, man your jeep was mint. My feelings are some kids on the street heard your stereo as you were driving by and decided to have a thrill stealing it. With the stuff they left, ya have to figure it was younger kids, bet they did it on a dare from guys they hang with.
Put some empty tin cans inside your jeep, place them so when someone opens door they fall to the ground and make a hell of a noise. Believe me they won't stand there long enough to realize it was only cans, and take a chance no one heard them. :D:D
May I suggest 3 or 4 doggies, but really Xan. I am sorry to hear of this, and so soon after you just moved in. am glad they didn't take the jeep

You could put some pennies in the cans also. Then they would make even more noise.

Damn, that sucks Xan. Sorry this happened to you. It makes my blood boil too when I hear about this stuff happening! I really think the vehicle theft problem is WAY out of control and something needs to be done about it! I vote for booby traps that take care of anyone breaking in. Pepper spray that fills the cab would definitely work! I'm glad they didn't take the whole Jeep!

To be honest I'm seriously considering setting up a neighborhood watch program in our community. There seems to be alot of trouble on our street and we have such a nice quite neighborhood. Our neighbors are all so nice and they all look out for one another, even a couple volunteer runs during the nights would be better than nothing, and I know that some of the guys would be aching to try out their new 12 gauges on some gangster punkass

I have had two stereo's taken and a third attempt.

The third guy was still in my vehicle screaming (Red neck alarm). When he reached under the stereo to pull it out he found out real fast that I soldered trebble fish hooks to the bottom of it. The cops came and got him and he had several stiches to remind him not to f**k with my things.:D:D
