Hey Mike.
I just wanted everyone to know if they have to designate a drop off point for
there incoming donations, Sheffield's salon on the corner of 48th street and
baseline say they'll help by letting us use the solon as the drop off point.
Open and accepting donations from 8:00a.m. to 6:00p.m. for Thursday and
Friday.
I'm already on the list for Saturday.

Mike, Stu
202 ends at Gilbert Rd presently. It would be easier to get off on
Country Club and go north then go to the end of 202.

Hey Stu, do we want to have a westside staging point like the Park N
Ride at 79th ave and Mcdowell? BTW you take the 202 east until it ends.
When you get off the 202 turn left and this road turns into the Beeline.
I think you know where the turnoff for Fountain Hills is.

I just got the word from the shop that is repairing my 94 YJ A/C. The A/C
was acting just like your A/C, On-Off-On-Off. Blowing cold when it worked.
They said the compressor was bad inside (he mentioned metal filings) and the
stuff that broke off the compressor clogged the condenser. They went through
a couple of aftermarket compressors, blowing out seals, before figuring out
that the condenser was clogged. They cleared the condenser with some kind of
cleaner, installed a factory compressor, and now everything is working fine.
I have to believe the part about the condenser being plugged. It makes sense
to me. I don't know if anything was really wrong with the compressor. It
worked really well when it worked. Maybe all I needed was to get the system
cleaned out.
Does anyone have any knowledge about the A/C system? Does what they said
make sense?
Anyway, I hope this helps in some way.

Well, first of all, there are a few different ratios depending
on whether the axle was under an Explorer with a 6 cylinder auto, 5
speed, or a V8 auto. I am already geared at 4.10 in my front diff,
so if I had gotten an axle with 4.10s in it, I would be okay for
now. My axle came from a V8, with a 3.55:1 ratio, which makes me
think it was an auto. Not too many 5 speed Explorers came with the
V8, but that is hearsay... FWIW. SOME 8.8s came stock with 4.10s,
and SOME came stock with a limited slip Trac-Loc.
And I could be missing some info, too, but I think I have what I
need: an 8.8 from a 2001 Explorer that I got for $300 here in town,
and it hasn't even got signs of wear on the brake pads. This thing
is a little dirty/dusty, but almost brand new!!! :)

It would be a big hit with the kids and victims as well as the town
itself. What does everyone think? The things that we are bringing
are needed anyway and won't go to waste. I really want a large
turnout of vehicles wheter or not we have alot of stuff. It'll be
good for morale to see the actual support of people and not just
large trucks dropping off stuff.

Mike the Red cross is not understanding the magnitude of what we are
doing. Also they are just looking for Money. They don't want anyone
else to know that someone other than them are helping.
Bottom line is we are making an organized effort to help not only with
supplies but morale and support.
I would suggest that we discontinue any further contact with the red
cross.
Thanks for all your hard work and stepping up to take on this huge
responsibility.

They will call me and let me know if there is something else or
something that is more needed than another. They did mention diapers
and blankets that wasn't on our list. Also, I talked to Payson P.D.
and they will let all officers on duty Sat. know what is happening
and to look for us between 9:00 and 10:00am. LETS GET THIS A HUGE
GROUP! ! ! The people at the shelter can't wait to see us roll in
and the kids faces too! ONE MORE THING - The shelter is actually at
the high school on 260 west of 87. In the big green building. SEE

Hey all,
I hate the thought that just came into my head, but here it is:
What if the environ(mental)ists put a spin on our presence at
the Payson run and somehow tried to make it look like our
collective "guilty conscience" of "being evil offroaders bent on the
destruction of all" brought us there? LOL! I know it's not likely
that it could happen, and the only thing I see coming from our run is
positive attention. It seems like in the times we live in everything
needs to be analyzed from every angle so that we can be assured that
no one gets offended/hurt/skewed/twisted/confused, or profits more
than someone else does. I am glad that we have taken the initiative
on this one, and I can't wait until we get the donations to Payson.

likely that this orifice got clogged and the condensor getting clogged.

Chances are they've done nothing. Case closed.

Wow! I would have to agree with David on this one. The Red Cross wants to
present the appearance that they are the end all. Only they can generate
help, and only they can dispurse help. Last night on the news they were
showing where the Red Cross took over a shelter and wouldn't let the locals
help out. It's kind of alarming for a volunteer group to get so power
hungry. Oh well, lets go up there and show our support!

Subject: Re: Got my 8.8!

I just got off the phone with Barb at the Red Cross shelter and she
said that they are getting alot of drop offs on Saturday. She
recommended that we not come up, but since it's already in the works
and stuff, it's up to us. Personally, I think that we should do it.

Mike,
I think that would be OK. It is easier for me to jump onto I-10 and then
the 202 and go that way rather than go up north and over on the 101.

Hey Stu, do we want to have a westside staging point like the Park N Ride at
79th ave and Mcdowell? BTW you take the 202 east until it ends. When you
get off the 202 turn left and this road turns into the Beeline. I think you
know where the turnoff for Fountain Hills is.

Here's the scoop. I just got off the phone with the shelter and they
are excited. I told them what we are bringing and they love it!
SEE
YOU ALL THERE! ! !

Hey all,
I hate the thought that just came into my head, but here it is:

My understanding is that there is an orifice which allows freon to flow
through but which causes pressure to build up behind it. It seems more
likely that this orifice got clogged and the condensor getting clogged.
But I'm no expert.

I agree with you. Let's do it. The people you talked to previously
confirmed that our arrival would provide some excitement for the kids.
That alone makes it worth going.

Actually Joey... you will be much better off if you get off at Gilbert; it
will save you quite a bit of time...

Which way are you going from there? Are you going to take the 101 up to
Shea....then Shea to Fountain Hills?
