Ok, know this is short notice but just wanted to see if anyone is off like me this week and wants to get out. Need to do a shakedown run on some mods and my weekends are booked solid in the near future.
Looking to do an easy Elvis run Weds morning. If anyone is interested, let me know.

Was thinking 8:30 at Price Rd. Waiting to see if anyone else is going as I don't want to run by myself. I'll have a passenger, but you are welcome to hop in. I'll post up yea or nah on the run once I find out anyone else can make it.

I can run it just need to take the easy lines and need some help at the squeeze. Cant go over to the right and make it over and get stuck in the squeeze or at least last time I did

I really want to go because I want to map out some stuff out there for my personal use.
Problem is my back is really giving me hell and I'm pretty stoned on meds right now :) and I don't know if I'll be able to wheel in the morning. Give me a couple hours to figure it out.

OK I'm feeling better so let's do it :) Kevin you have run this before haven't you? If the squeeze is your only concern, we'll take care of you. If you are totally against it you can ride bish with me but I KNOW you would rather drive it :)
Where and when? Still shooting for 0830 Price road?

You should be fine. The last obsticle is the hardest. Either have to go through the squeeze or up and over a waterfall that feels worse than it is. I've seen TJ's open on 31's run Elvis with no problem. The great thing is the obsticles have multiple lines that are easy or hard depending on what you want.

Price road by florence not the price road in Tempe :) Just in case.
Kevin, gonna be giving you crap all day tomorrow :D J/K ..... Sorta ;)
I'm brining spare axles for d35, steering, carrier, air. what more could you need. Never mind, the list could be too long.
See you guys at 0830. I'm gonna gas up at the shell station in Gold canyon and leave there at 0800 if anyone wants to meet up.

Had a good time today. Not too much carnage except for Chris's Nerf bars. (told you to take those silly things off :D) and my transfer skid looks like a potato chip. Kevin convinced me to take the Z curve before the squeeze and I got hung up. Backing out I picked up a huge rock under the rear of my skid and crushed it. My fancy new drive shaft now rubs on the exhaust pipe and a little on the tranny housing. Gotta fab up a new skid and move the exhaust pipe.
I'm gonna make a set of rocker guards for Chris's TJ, anyone else want a set since I'm already doing his? I have to check on steel prices but I'm thinking about $100 fabbed up and painted. Should be able to mount them your self pretty easy.

Had a good time today. Thanks Bill, Chris, and Kevin for going out on short notice. Great to meet some new faces get back out on the trail. No real drama on Elvis. Chris decided he needs some new rocker protection and my windshield decided to separate itself completely from the body. Guess 12 yrs of wheelin will do that. :D One step closer to chopping off the top....
Thankfully Autozone is open 24 hrs and they carry 20 yr old Jeep parts. Last night about 9pm I decided to start the rig and nothing happened. A few checks revealed no spark. A check of the sensors and ignition system pointed to the coil/ignition module. So off to Autozone I went and the Jeep was purring along again by 11 pm.

If by convincing you me hey bill you going to try this line then yes I have very good powers of persuasion (sp). I had a good time even though I didnt drive but my wife is happy that nothing is broke, my knee is killing me though. I guess it was not a smart idea to go out on the trail with a dislocated knee.
I cant wait till I get mine back on the trail should be fun

Yeah my eyes were bigger than my jeep :D Oh well, gotta learn somehow.
Oh yeah forgot about Matt's windshield falling out :) That was different.
Sorry I kept calling Chris Matt and Matt Chris DOH!! Old man moment.
Got GPS Coords for all the rails leading off of Elvis so now I won't get lost :)
We did some unstacking and picked up some trash on the route. Wasn't really all that bad, a few beer cans, vehicle parts and a pizza box.

Elvis always gets its pound of flesh:rolleyes:
Everytime I've been on it or read about it something breaks or quits working.

I might be interested depending on how Chris's turns out. And you wouldn't have to worry about painting them for me, id just get them powdercoated.

Here is how mine turned out. I think they look pretty good but most importantly they take some nasty hits and are barely scratched.
On these pictures I don't have all the bolts in yet.

They are made from 3" X 3" X 1/4" angle iron welded over 6" x 1/4" flat plate making it 1/2" for 3" of the gard.

I'll kinda need to see the rig to take measurements. I need to know if you want it only to the fender flare or all the way to the end of the metal. I could just make it up and cut off the ends and finish it later.
I don't know when Chris wants his done but I would kinda like to make a few sets at once to make it a little easier. Also I can get an idea about steel prices too.
Just let me know.

His tires were pretty impressive, from the outside of the vehicle they seemed very pliable and tons of grip. Unbelievable how they wrapped around the rocks.

Did you just get done waxing your jeep. That is very clean for some nasty hits.

In this picture I had just washed it to install the rocker guards. That was several months ago. Don't worry it is back to its normal dirty state again :D

Note the high tech fix :D That's the easiest trail fix I've done in a while. It was nice to get out midweek, haven't done that in a while.
Chris - Thanks for the pics. (Thank your wife too!)
