Has any thought been given to the path up to Payson? This morning
they made it clear on the news that the DPS is stopping anyone who
does not have clearance to get up to Payson and turning them away.
Clearance must be given by the Forest Service, I think they said it
was on the 260, but by the time I heard it enough to pay attention
they did not say the road again.

Just a heads up to be sure we can get up there.

Hey Mike,

I just got the digest with your post (Had 12 to read through this
morning, I don't know what was up with yahoo groups the last few
days). Looks like you got lost in all the fire stuff and the fact
the group is phx-centric. I'd love to help but I won't be available

the work and I'll try to be there. I'm near the Tucson Mall.

Hi Everyone,

Unless anyone has any better suggestions... I propose that we meet at the
Beeline Highway and Shea road in Fountain Hills at 6:30am on Saturday.
There is a Taco Bell on the North side of Shea just West of the beeline
highway. I think that there is enough parking in the area for us to use it
to stage the run. If anyone knows a better (larger) spot in the Fountain
Hills area, please speak up.

Wherever we meet we should get a radio station to come out there and
broadcast from the spot in the moring........ like one of their Vans
or something.

Want to make it later? I was just trying to think of the people without A/C
and of not chewing up the entire day... in and out quick and early so we
don't create a problem for the town of Payson. <grin>
I suspect however, if as many people sign up as I expect will... we're going
to create quite a splash in Payson.

Howdy all --

I am looking into getting a Jeep Trailer (eg. M416, M100 or
equivalent) for camping, light hauling etc. Does anyone have any
clues on where such a thing might be found?

I want to tow this behind my TJ.

I am looking for decent condition, that is appearence doesn't matter
much as long as it isn't too rusty. Dents, surface rust, dirty is
okay. Structural rust to frame is probably not acceptable, some rust
on tub is even minor holes is. Must be ready to tow, ie, has decent
axle, hubs, wheels and tires.

I am not looking to spend a huge amount, nor am I interested in
restoring it if it is a military item. So something between 400-800
depending on condition is what I am looking for.

Anyone know of any?

Also, what has the deal been lately with yahoo mail and groups? I
didn't get any messages for a few days and now they have all suddenly
appeared?

Hi Everyone,

With all the airplay that this event is getting over the radio, I think it
would be great if we could really string together 100 Jeeps on the Payson
Rodeo Fire Support run.
If you haven't signed up yet... please do so here:

http://www.azvjc.org/

Click on trips and then choose the one entitled "unspecified - Saturday June
29th" You'll know you have the right one when you see the words Donation
and Payson in the text for the run.

I don't think that anyone can overestimate the positive impact that TV and
radio coverage of our support for the fire-fighting infrastructure and the
animal shelters can have on both the image of local four wheelers in
general, and on the future of our sport. Once again, we have an incredible
opportunity to make a real impact on the public's perception of four
wheelers... let's take advantage of it.

I am again reminded that we can produce an incredible crowd for a BBQ... I
have no doubt that we can produce just as large a crowd (if not larger) for
this support run.
My goal is to see a string of Jeeps as far as the eye can see on the run to
Payson. Even if you only bring a single can of cat food or a single bottle
of water... it's your participation which counts and not what you bring.

I promise you... if you miss this, you'll be missing the opportunity of a
lifetime. Chances like this don't come up very often... please... step up.
All too often we think that we can't have an impact... well now you can.

PS. If anyone has TV connections or ideas on how to make sure we get TV
coverage, please send me your suggestions.

Kind Regards,

Joe West

Saturday at Beeline and Shea?

Hi Everyone,

Unless anyone has any better suggestions... I propose that we meet at the
Beeline Highway and Shea road in Fountain Hills at 6:30am on Saturday.
There is a Taco Bell on the North side of Shea just West of the beeline
highway. I think that there is enough parking in the area for us to use it
to stage the run. If anyone knows a better (larger) spot in the Fountain
Hills area, please speak up.

I say we make the cash donations to the basha's or Food city becasue
they will match any donation we make.......... just a suggestion.

Take the 202E to the Country Club exit (SR 87) and head left (N), left
(w) on Shea, right(n) into Taco bell parking lot.

I am interested in going on the run (a little later) on Saturday. I could
bring the Grand Cherokee and pull a friend's 4x8 utility trailer for the
stuff. However, anyone have enough stuff to fill the trailer?
