I work for a trucking company. I asked my boss today if we could donate a truck to bring supplies to some of the relief sights. He said it would be OK but had to get the final OK from the big boss. So if all goes well I'll have access to 48' semi or what ever smaller size they might need. I know last night they (the company I work for) brought 6 pallets of water up to eager but that was in route with one of the normal routes. What I want to do is on my own time, day off and borrow the truck that is why he has to get the OK first.
My boss said he would try to get in contact with the person that that he talked to yesterday at the salvation army and see what kind of delivery help they needed and were it needs to go to and try to get back to me tonight.
Is anyone interested in helping load the trailer if this goes through and they need the help? If there is enough people interested maybe you could car pool up and help unload also? I would be good PR for the club.

I just talked to the Red cross and salvation army. they are saying they don't need any more item. All they want is money. While irritated by this, I figure I would what for. They say they have lots of cost involved? Maybe someone a little less irritated can get to the bottom of what they need. Maybe we can be the shipping company for them. Maybe that would relieve some of their "costs". Just an idea.
Some items still needed are diapers, powdered formula, toiletries for children and adults, antacids, aspirin, lip balm, toilet paper, sunscreen, pet supplies and food.

Rob Williams,
Could you please post a SPECIFIC list of the items that are needed by the
red cross and others? You have kind of a general list, but a list of
specific items would be most helpful... especially if it came from the
agency which we are planning to deliver supplies to.
If you could please post this to the list, I would appreciate it.

I would like everyone to know at the same time 9-11 was occuring,
disasters were happening all over our nation. A family's house
burning down is no where near the scale of 9-11, but they are still
in dire need of assistance from the red cross. Someones money may
have not gone straight to New York but that money provided shelter,
food and clothing to a number of fellow Americans that were in need.
If anyone wants to bash the Red Cross, go ask someone who has been
helped by the Red Cross what they think. If you still want to bash
the Red Cross you better deny their help if your house ever burns
down. They will give you without question, a place to stay,
clothing, bedding and food. Oh but never mind, they didn't send all
your money to 9-11 and the Ceo supposidly lives in a mansion. So
screw them right? I mean, why state facts when your mind is already
made up?

Subject: fire run decal info.....
seems to be some intrest in doing these, so let me tell you alittle
info...the stickers are die cut decals...which is vinyl...the size is
aprox. 4 1/2 inches tall by 5 1/2 inches at the widest part...being
a die cut decal...the color of the sticker is the color of the
vinyl...the parts in the image that are white will be the color of
what they are applied to..(i.e. if you have a red jeep they will be
red) ..this seem to be about as small as i can get them, and still
get a good weeding with them (having my jeep like vehicle in the
middle).
http://home.earthlink.net/~aduncanphotos/Images/Fire1.jpg
i can't make them in a full color image cause that would take too
much time...and i would need to do a huge run of them because
we don't do that in house.
for a sticker of this size they would sell for about the $5.00 range
with the level of detail in them.....so the next question would be
how much to charge with the profits going to the red cross or
someone of that nature...i know what the profit margin of the
sticker is so if we charged the $5.00 rate..we will get some
money for the red cross...if people want to pay more i will just
give the extra also.
thinking of making some in black (like the image) some in white,
and a few in red.....so my next question is how would we get
together to hand these out...and how many are people thinking
of having and also what color.

I had the "TJ low passenger side rear" problem some time back. I swapped my rear springs side to side and all has been fine since then. To date, no indication of the proplem returning. I use a RE adjustable rear track bar, although I've never found that to be a problem. I confirmed this by checking the vehicle height without the bar track attached and it still sat low on the right rear....hence, no induced binding from the track bar. Before you spend money on a track bar, you may wish to try that.

Chris,
The ride height difference between driver and passenger side springs is very common on a lifted TJ and always (as you have experienced) the passenger side sits lower.
Having many friends who have experienced this (as well as experiencing this myself), I can tell you that there is an easy fix:
Get a terraflex adjustable rear track bar.
The primary reason that the right side sits lower is because your rear track bar is binding at the point where it attaches to the frame on the right (no surprise) side of your Jeep. When you get the terraflex adjustable rear track bar, you can adjust the bar so that the binding is minimized AND the bar is designed to minimize axial loading of the bar itself so that there is virtually no way for the bar to bind up.
Joe West
All,
I've really enjoyed the ride of the Old Man Emu lift on my '99 TJ, but I have noticed that my jeep is now an inch or so higher on the driver's side and it creaks when I start rolling.
I've been told that it's normal for springs to break in at different rates and that parking it for an hour or so w

The truth is that the Red Cross, while doing a lot of good work over the years, has engaged in a lot of less than desirable advertising schemes and has illegally diverted money to uses other than what the donors intended the money be used for. This happened in regard to the 9/11 tragedy and also to wildfire victims in San Diego several years ago. The Red Cross is under scrutiny and justifiably so. Remember United way years ago? Different set of circumstances but the issue is the same. Integrity seems to be lacking. Hopefully they will get straight soon. Until then I'll be continuing to donate to the Salvation Army.

work full time during the day, and I have school mon-thurs evenings.
I have already been chewed out once for as much time as I'm spending
on these e-mails trying to clarify what is going on, and getting
chastized by quite a few of you out there for even trying to do
this!! I just tried to suggest something I thought would be easy to
do, and to help out these people. Someone suggested I post it to see
if there is an interest, and now I am the spearhead for this. I will
be more than willing to help, but I can't organize it. I talked to
my mother last night and we will be at the Payson relief site to
volunteer to help with whatever they need. I still want to do the
run, and have plenty of donations, but again, I can not organize

I also am trying to gather as much info as possible. What is needed
is changing day by day. As for the run, Lets meet on 87 somewhere in
the morning on sat and head out. I have confirmed where the animal
shelter is and what exactly they need (see previous post). SO one
stop is ready to go. It was a mad house at the animal shelter so I
can just imagine what the local relief centers are like. As long as
we have a few place to drop off supplies and a somewhat timely list
of needs we will have helped. In a crisis situation, there is never
the perfect response. If we bring something they dont need no harm no
foul. Everything else we bring will have helped out greatly. This is
probably not going to be the best planned run ever but given the
parameters we are have, we will do fine.

I will get the info of what is needed for everyone. I talked to John
Holmberg (98 KUPD) and he has mentioned this on the morning radio for
us. Also I am posting it on my website (www.azod.com) as well as
having the trip report in the magazine (Arizona Outdoorsman). As
soon as I get the list of needed items, I will post it for everyone.
I can fill my garage with stuff and if needed I can get a trailer or
U-haul to take up there. Anyone that wants to help me with all the
donations and organizing this, please let me know. Thanks.

Nick,
I agree with you, the Red Cross is a great organization and does many
wonderful things around the globe. However, my point was "if you want your
money to go to the Rodeo/Chedeski fire victims, research other local
agencies".
I have family and friends that have homes in the Heber area, and if I want
to give $5000 to help them and other homeless victims of this fire, I want
to know that the relief efforts are going to get my $5000. I'm sure there
are other things going on in the world this very second that could use some
of that money, and if I felt moved to support them, I certainly would.
Right now I am moved to support my friends and family that are camping out
in the high school gym, praying that they still have a place to call home.

So

Start off with 2 instructors and there hanging on to you at all times till you pull. the last jump you follow your 1 instructor out of the plane and do a back flip and all that kind of stuff. by the last jump you don't get touched by your instructor and do everything on your own

Kind Regards,

Until then I'll be continuing to donate to the Salvation Army.

is changing day by day.

Nick,
I agree with you, the Red Cross is a great organization and does many
wonderful things around the globe.
Right now I am moved to support my friends and family that are camping out
in the high school gym, praying that they still have a place to call home.

clothing, bedding and food. Oh but never mind, they didn't send all
your money to 9-11 and the Ceo supposidly lives in a mansion. So
screw them right? I mean, why state facts when your mind is already
made up?

Have you ever heard of AFF ( Accelerated Free Fall ) thats how I got certified, it took 7 jumps, all of the let me free fall for about a min. Start off with 2 instructors and there hanging on to you at all times till you pull. the last jump you follow your 1 instructor out of the plane and do a back flip and all that kind of stuff. by the last jump you don't get touched by your instructor and do everything on your own
