Anyone up for a midweek run and getting started in the early am? I've done this run once before and wouldn't mind leading however if anyone else has more experience on this trail, I'd be more than willing to pass the torch.

Meeting Place... Where the pavement ends at 8:30am.

See the following thread for detailed info on exactly where to meet. I'd top off your gas tanks at the carefree hwy exit off the I-17.

Yes I would like to go on this run. But just how early am are you thinking of? I need all the beauty sleep I can get and would be coming from South Tempe. I’ve been on this trail twice.

I'm thinking that "early" means being in the lake pleasant area sometime between 8-9am. I'd definitely be flexible for other folks schedules.... I'd be starting out from central phoenix to make the trip.

I am interested where is this I dont have a clue. I live in the mesa country club and 202. how would I get there from here. I am running 4.88 with 33" tires so free way going is slow. PLease let me know

that this would start out at lake pleasant off the I-17 & Carefree Highway.. And then end up in crown king... I have been wanting to do this run for awile now..

Fill up some where close to Lake Pleasant. You will probably take the 101 around, so you could get of at 75th Ave. and get gas there. Or you could go up to I-17 and get off at Carfree and fill up there, then take Carefree to the trail head. Cary a few extra gallons with you. You can make it both ways with gas left over and be fine, but if you do end up needing it, gas is usually more than a dollar more expensive up there.

Digger, thanks for the heads up. It's always good to think about this stuff. I do have front and rear recovery points and tow strap, etc. Obviously, any other recovery gear folks could bring would be great.

And is there a final count of who si going, what channel to be on (CB) and anything else we need, cell phone numbers, etc? I am coming for sure now.

im going to gas up at QT on mesa dr/ 60 (well, south of 60) im in a black TJ, with no doors and probably a sweater lol cause it might be a bit chilly on the drive there!

also, what cb channel? I got my new firestik in with it all tuned so i should have good range/reception. Although it will be tough to hear doin 80 with no doors on!

Shiimbii took pictures, hopefully will post up soon. I had no camera but had good time. Just 3 of us went and only saw 2 others way behind us. It was good time.

I would love to do it on any GIVIN sunday... during the week is hard for me cause i am a manager and always get called in like the day before a run... But they cant touch me on sundays ;)

Overall it was a great trip with no breakage... It was a beautiful day... 66 degrees up top in Crown King at 2:00 in the afternoon.
