Although I am not going, I would question using a BBQ grill. Even though the west side of the Verde (FR42) is still open to wheelin, I believe there are fire restrictions in affect. Given all that has happened in the past two weeks concerning fires, I just dont see that the risk is worth it, legally or otherwise.

I certainly agree here. I don't know the area, but it's certainly not STL, else it would be closed tightly. If it's not private land, then it's either FS and/or BLM, and both of those have extremely tight fire restrictions. Don't want anyone making the nightly news..

Josh is exactly right here. When left alone forests will burn an
average of every 12 years. These quick burns don't kill all of
the trees. When the fuel builds up the fire is so intense that it
kills the trees.
Poor management by the Forest Service forced on them by the
dastardly Greens.
And his point about humans being natural; I agree 100%. A nuclear
reaction is natural (look at the Sun if you don't believe me).
Ants build anthills, man builds roads, buildings, and other things.
In a 100,000 years it will all work out one way or another, a
blink in the span of time of the universe and totally
inconsequential.
Cheers!

Subject: Jeep TJ and YJ custom bumper opportunity
Hey Everyone-
Kongs4X4 a local 4WD fabrication/repair shop is looking for two
volunteers to test fit a new line of Jeep TJ and YJ custom front and
rear bumpers.
If you have a Jeep TJ or YJ with stock bumpers and would like a set
of custom front and rear bumpers at no cost to you. Here is the
catch, you will need to leave your vehicle with them for 1-2 weeks
while they design develop and fit the new line of bumpers.
So if you have some other vehicle to drive for a week or two and
would like a set of custom bumpers give Kongs4X4 a call.
The best way to contact Mark is by using the phone. I would not
recommend e-mail. They only need on TJ and one YJ and it's first
come first serve.

Forester's husband contradicts letter story
By Tom Kenworthy, USA TODAY
AP
Terry Barton stands at the scene of the Hayman Fire Sunday, June 9. She is now held in jail without bail.
DENVER — The estranged husband of a U.S. Forest Service worker accused of setting the worst wildfire in Colorado history told investigators he had never written a letter to his wife, undercutting her story that she had accidently kindled the blaze by burning the letter in a campfire ring. That information came to light Thursday during a pretrial hearing for Forest Service recreation technician Terry Barton, 38, an 18-year veteran of the agency. Barton pleaded innocent in federal court to four felony counts lodged against her by a grand jury on Wednesday.

I've just started hearing a very odd noise coming from the back end of my 90
YJ. I'm pretty certain that it isn't the diff, but instead sounds like
possibly the body rubbing on something. The noise really only is evident if
I'm going over bumps or curbs at an angle. If I hit them straight on
there's no sound, but the instant I take them at an angle a very disturbing
noise comes from the rear passenger side. I've jumped up and down on the
bumper and it doesn't seem to be the shocks. Any suggestions??

Yes, but I have a feeling that Lake Pleasant water is not part of
the Salt River Project. I could be wrong about that. I've always
had an itching to find out. Anybody know exactly how Lake Pleasant
and its water fits into the entire hydrologic scheme of things
in Central Arizona?
(For example, where the CAP canal and the canals fed by the
Lake Pleasant dam cross, I don't think they mingle. One goes
over or under the other.)

This URL explains why Lake Pleasant always looks so full:
Apparently, CAP water from the Colorado River is pumped
INTO the lake.

Subject: Strange noise in the rear.

Chris, I just drove out to Lake Pleasant last night (Friday night) and the
lake looks great. Of course, I was there at night but the lake doesn't look
to bad. It is just a "bit" lower than normal but not bad, PLENTY of water
out there.
