I am looking for a CHEEP set of headers for a 360 AMC that are outside the frame rail's. Please send Pictures if you have them. The one's I have are flat from rocks. The next set I will build a protector for them.
Thanks

after smashing my exhaust several times, I threw mine away
IMHO/experience, if you are planning on doing anything harder than a 3.0, ditch the outside the frame headers.... unless you are going to the dunes (performance is only detectable at high rpm) headers just are not worth it
I have had 5 jeeps with headers; of the ones that had headers that I still have, J10 (390) CJ7 (304)commando (304), all are back to stock manifolds
just my .02

I was thinking this time I could put a 3/16th plate under them? I will have to start looking for some stock manafolds just in case.

protecting with shield you are containing/reflecting immense ammount of heat (up towards you)
you are also loosing 4-6" of valuable ground clearance
used set of manifolds (without emissions crap)
$125.02
