There are plenty of areas other than rock crawling. The cinders northeast of Flagstaff are fun for all jeeps, lots of or not lots of horsepower. A bunch of us go up during the summer to get away from the heat. Another great area is the sand dunes in California. We go to the gordon wells area just outside of Yuma during the winter months. Both areas are about 3 to 3 and half hours from Phoenix. Any questions get ahold of me.

Take it easy,

I raced a TJ at the drag strip last weekend.
He broke an axle. Was interesting at the exit lane on the end of
the strip when his left rear wheel pulled out about two feet when
he made the turn.
He ran a 19.630 at 68.93 MPH on that pass.

Hmmm, better get a group buy on Snorkels going...
No, what will really happen in the end is we will keep
burning hydrocarbon fuels and heating up the environment
until a major earth-changing event like a catastrophic
melt of the polar ice caps and possible shift in earth's
rotational axis occurs. Then I suppose we shall have learned a
lesson. =) But even so, I think life, and humans in
particular, will find a way.

Bob,

I just bought a full floating Dana 60 out of an E250 Ford Van at
Ecology's 1/2 off day sale for $65.00.

They are on 27th Drive North of Buckeye road.

There is a pull a part next door to them (South) that sells any axle
for $50.00.

They have a BUNCH of Ford 9" diffs out of trucks and vans.

The Pick a part yard should also have a few Lincoln Towncars with the
Ford 9" with the disk brake setup in the rear. I know that Ecology
next door does.

I bought a Dana 30 front end out of a 1996 Jeep Cherokee complete for
$50.00 (from the pick a part yard)!

I haven't been to the pick a part place in a month, and when I was
there last the Cherokees they had were pretty much picked over, but
Ecology has both Jeep Commanches and Cherokees with Dana 30's and
Chrysler 8.25 rear axles in them. Both of these will be 60" wide with
the 5 on 4.5 lug pattern.

Happy hunting,

John Rabenius

How things would be for offroaders if the current Rodeo fire had been
started by a group of AZVJC Jeepers on a run...

Once again, I'd like to remind everyone not to participate in any runs if
you don't have at least one fire extinguisher in your vehicle... stick to
running over non vegetated areas only and please... think about how little
it takes to ignite a devastating fire right now. The rodeo fire was started
someone burning a letter.

Be safe people; be smart.

Just some food for thought.
