Subject: Show Low area Fire
I just got a call from my parents that live in Pinetop. They are bringing
down everything they want to save if a fire hits to store at my house. A
close friend (ex live in girl friend) has a cabin in Lindon just outside of
Show Low and they have been evacuated due to the fire. The ash has been so
heavy they had to have the lights on all day. Show Low is getting heavy ash
also and the outside areas are being prepped for evacuation. Jim F.

Well, my ex-wife's XJ said that it would tow 5000 lbs in the Manual out of the glove box with a ClassIII Hitch from DC. U-haul told me they would not rent me a Trailer to tow behind it to tow my TJ saying that it would be over weight?
Stock TJ = 3000 lbs.
Trailer = 1000 lbs
Equals about 4000 lbs. I said ok and left. I was just checking it out in case I ever needed to tow my TJ due to trail breakage or out of state. I believe Mike from Rok-Rat has towed his XJ behind his ZJ.

Both ford and dodge have live axles for everything 3/4 ton and above.
so ok sure the 1/2 tons are different. But you can't put a 1200lb
Cummins turbo diesel in a 1/2 ton pickup with ifs.

He ran a 19.630 at 68.93 MPH on that pass.

Nice try.
And, in all fairness, I appeal to you to explain to the group when I have
polled them to hand anything to me based solely on my own laziness....
Relax, James, I assure you I can take a cheap shot with the best of them.
I would like to congratulate you on stimulating Joe West to give about the
best short story I've ever read!
Roger Tomas' wasn't bad either...
And you did post a reply , just not to the group.

Subject: Re: Radiator
I just had the same thing happen to me the week before last, and I
decided to get a new radiator. I went with a 3-core model, and had
originally decided to go with a GDI (Go-Dan Industries) heavy duty
model. Sadly, I found out that They do not produce one for my vehicle,
but the staff at the place I got it were very helpful and gave me a
smokin deal on a 3-core CSF radiator (I have no idea what CSF stands
for, though...). The CSF model was extremely well-built, and went in
perfectly in place of my old stock 2-core.
I hope I don't sound like an advertisement, but I was very pleased
with the people at 1-800-radiator, also known as www.radiator.com . I
compared prices, even other websites, and these guys had the best
price anywhere. I wouldn't recommend re-coring or trying to repair
your radiator, when you can get an extremely well-built brand new one
for only a few bucks more. I would also recommend getting the HD
3-core for use here in AZ.
To be fair, I own a XJ, and perhaps other folks with other Jeeps may
have other opinions. I have only dealt with this store once, and
perhaps I just had a really good experience...but I gotta say that the
euphoria of driving around town with the outside temperature near 115
degrees and having my radiator barely hit 210 in traffic with the AC
set on high is something that I feel I gotta congratulate somebody
for. It was an easy repair, and the results were immediate and rather
stunning.
Good luck with your quest!

Jim F.

Stock TJ = 3000 lbs.
Trailer = 1000 lbs

Nope, I was talking about Dodge. :-)
The Dodge 1500 is no longer solid-axle in the front as of MY2002, the Dodge
2500 and 3500 will still be solid-axle in the front like always, even the
newly designed 2500/3500 due out in Sept (MY2003). John was mistaken when
he said Dodge was IFS in the 4wds, at least when it comes to the 3/4ton and

Jake,
Exploring for old mines and ghost towns is one of my loves. If there are rocks in the way, much better. Topo maps, GPS, Jeep, = lots of fun and history. Looking forward to rain and cooler weather.

I've posted a few wild cat runs to explore for old mines or ghost
towns. It's too hot right now, but once it cools down again I plan on going
back out on some runs.

True this is interesting. Especially since most of the Virtual Jeep
Club
seems to be bent on rock crawling, myself included. I suppose its the
terrain around here.
Does anyone else in this club run trails for speed or something other
than
rocks?
I Assume this club is open to all types of 4 wheeling, but I have never
seen
a run for anything other than General Wheeling, and Rock crawling, and
maybe
Dunning. Any Wash races around here, Im sure we have enough of them
