I can't get out there until tomorrow. But try to post up more information when you get it. Does this guy need medical attention?? Or is his rig broke and needs a winch/parts or a welder?

I have no idea why this guy was out there but we never found him . He is staying the night. We raised him on CB but couldn't find the trail in the dark.

Looks like no wheeling for me today :(

You could probablly just take front shaft out and run it in 2wd.

I thought about that but you know there will be that one place, and the thought of being strapped on a 2.0 trail makes me cringe :)

Sorry Bill, it was either bend the strap to get the frt shaft out, or you deal with the massive
TO bad we couldn't find him....
but why you all were trying HTH in the first place with proper gear, and not to mention Lockers, I dunno...
it was a wasted effort with out anyone knowing how to get there.

Adam, glad to see you made it home. I actually thought I had a spare here since I have 2 extra axles. If we didn't break it of the balance would have been worse than the bent shaft. Oh well.
I went out to the meet up place to say hi to everybody anyway since it was just 3 miles away. I'll take today to fix all the stupid little things wrong with it and relocate my air pressure gage. I'll probably drop the tranny pan and replace the gasket too.
Poor little TJ is really beat up :)

Well, actually we where just wheeling upper woodpecker and when we finished, Mike had wanted to continue on to H2H. I did not want to try and run it as I am not equipped like you had mentioned.
As for Mike, he is locked F/R w/ 35's and 4.56's, so he continued on while I had follwed him till the first obstacle/turn around point and parked my Jeep. He was on the first obstacle and slid off a rock putting him in a hell of a bind, high center with his driveshaft grazing the rock. When we tried getting him off there with 2 hilifts, we were unable to, so we stacked him under his tires and lowered his truck on the stacks. That still yield'd him a good 3 1/2ft -4ft rock him 35's to get over and when he tried to, needless to say his driveshaft was the weak link.
-Nick
*EDIT* I think that the both of you guys are being unfair with what you are now saying. You are saying I was dumb to try h2h when I was the one who was driving his rig back looking for help. Now that we are back on the forums you decide to b**ch and moan about how the night was, then why did you offer to help if all you knew was you were going to complain? It sure doesnt seem like a true Jeeper to me. I do recall, Adam, waiting for you on Elvis holding everyone back and making a 2 hour run for me into an 8 hour run that night. I could have came back on the forums and b**ch like you do, but instead I like to keep it to myself and not start anything as I feel that is a little more mature action. You seemingly blame me for not being able to find the trail as you got help from numerous others and were still unable to find, even with Bill saying he has run woodpecker and knows how to get to it from a different entrance. You guys could have simply grown up and accepted the fact that a valiant effort was givin to someone in need of help, instead of bashing. If you feel a need to continue this bash fest, please feel free to PM me and keep the forums clean. I dont think these personal jab's/clashing personalities should show on the forums, so if you feel then need then by all means.

Well Nick if we want to go there... fine lets go
GO CLEAN UP ELVIS OF ALL YOUR BEER BOTTLES YOU AND YOUR GIRLFRIEND LEFT ON THE TRAIL THAT NIGHT....
I wrote you a private message regarding the issue... and you never responded like you didnt give a shiat out about trail!!
I didn't even want to help you rescue your friend once I found out you were leaving us... and after what happened on Elvis.
It wasnt a waste of time, as Bill and I had fun for the most part, until it got late with no results of finding your friend.
And You couldnt even find the trail...
I am not bashing you... just was very tired, hungry and out of fuel...
I was in the hot sun all day cleaning up trails, then went wheeling, then went to go help your friend, which no one could give good directions, nor could you get there!
And as for me wasting your time on Elvis, well I didn't see you lift a hand to help us other then you lifting your hand to drink more beers.
Jim, Ben, and Bill were the only ones trying to help me, while you sat there with your g/f drinking.
And the trail is normally a 4 hour run, and Well We did it in 8 Jim busted a tire, You were stuck in the squeeze for an hour because your g/f doesnt allow us spot you... and I busted a tie-rod and drag link...
I am not sorry for my rig breaking, and you had to sit there, you should have just left.

Read my post #15, then read the trail rating, then go out and take stock of what is on your rig. I'm not bashing you just stating a fact. Sorry if we came off a little harsh but it was actually very frustrating for me to have GPS coords, radio contact and still have to leave a guy in the field. You have no idea how much that bugs me. I would have stayed out there all night if I could have but since he had water and was on a trail that was probably gonna break my rig, there is only so much we can do.
As far as the people we talked to in the field, no one wanted to lift a finger and they all said it was because "These guys have no right going out and doing H2H and woody without lockers, winches and spare parts..."
Their words not mine. I don't do H2H because it is a trail rated over my rigs ability even though I'm sure I could muscle my way through it.
Besides that When we talked to you last night I was already a little PO'd and I didn't say anything different on here that I didn't already say to you then.
One last thing I never said you were dumb I just said you were open trails you shouldn't be on. Tongue in cheek. If I break some place where I shouldn't be or do something else stupid, people laugh at me and I roll with the punches. Lighten up :)

Where did you see the tranny fluid?
From what I read... they were not at H2H or Upper WoodPecker so you
found something totally different....
Did you by any chance clean it up?
Just wondering... if we dont try and keep the desert/trails clean
then they will be closed and we dont want that to happen...

Sorry, we all have to remember "pack it in...pack it out" but we mainly
need to remember that our trails can get closed because of trash left
behind..
I am not saying that there was trash left but just want to make sure
that if there was it gets cleaned up...

It might have been Bill's rig as I discovered he was leaking at lower wood pecker and one other spot, we fixed the leak, and cleaned up what mess we found with simple green and other stuff.... so I dunno if it was his or not... but what oil mess we found we cleaned.
after we fixed his leak, it didnt drip again for the remaining of the night.

PaintersAtv- yea, the guy that was stuck blew a power steeing hose and that was all the oil, sorry bout it on the trail, tried to clean it as best as possible. Hecklr was the guy that finally got him unstuck by bout 5:00 this morning. Glad he was gone so you could run the trail!!;)
Fireball- Thank you again for your effort. I understand the frustration and I sympathize with being out there all day. We started our day @ 8:30a.m. and were still out there by whatever time last night. It wasn't all a waste, and I'm sorry for the damage you picked up. I agree that I probably do have an under-equipped rig to run highway to hell. That's also why I didn't try to run it, and I was able to drive home untouched. I also believe wheeling has 95% to do with driving ability and 5% to do with your rigs "builtness." There's even alot of people on this forum that prove that daily. I'm sorry we couldn't find it, but you agree everything changes at night. Turns out we drove past the entrance last night about 5 times. Again, thank you for your effort to lend a hand.
Adam- as for you, after this post I have nothing more to say on this matter. I'm sorry that I asked you for help, I guess we live and learn. Yes, we did leave things off to the side of elvis, and we took care of it. I didn't feel a need to PM you because I don't need someone to hold my hand, and I have no reason to answer to you. You voiced a concern, and we delt with it. I do give a s**t about our trails because without them, there really wouldn't be a reason to have the rigs we all do. I understand everyone breaks here and there. There's only so many people that can fit under the front of a jeep before everyone's just in a dog pile and nothings getting done. If you needed help so bad, you could have asked and it would have been there. And as for leaving, just like last night, we don't leave a "fellow" jeeper stuck and broke down. As for the squeeze, it's a miracle that I have gone through that 3-4 times previous and never received windshield channel damage as in the night we went through it. The reason why, is we live IN the florence junction area. We are out on almost a nightly basis, and yes, we run most trails alone. We run them well-equipped, and we run knowing we HAVE to drive home. We wheel conservately, and we have run with a few people that left bad tastes in our mouths, so most of the time we go alone. She is a fellow jeep owner that had a modified YJ for 5 years, and even though she wasn't hitting up lower woodpecker, she still understands the game. I trust her judgment on the trail, being that we have never been stranded. Being a team that always runs together, she was my best exit out of the squeeze on elvis. Yea, rocker damage, big deal. They're jeep tattoo's. My rig is not my daily driver, all it has to do is get home. As for anything else...you can PM me but like I said, after this post I am finished. I'm not trying to start a fight, but I don't understand why you would offer to help, then flame and complain afterwards. We were trying to help a fellow wheeler that was badly stuck; we gave it a good effort, and it should have been left at that. Let's all remember this is a FAMILY-FRIENDLY forum.
Jason- :D;) your previous saying.....classic!

Diane- Very unnecessary. Issue was resolved a while ago, like it states. The bold letters aren't necessary at all seeing as it was resolved with out Adam's knowledge. Yesterday both myself and Mike (guy who was stuck) aided in the cleanup that the Land Rover/Range Rover guys where doing yesterday fyi, so please dont come in here hootin' and hollerin' about stuff you dont know about, and try to post it in bold to make me look bad. I do my very best to keep all trails as good as can be, that specific night was a rough night with a small slip up in which you didnt partake in. I understand and appreciate you concern's for the trails, but you do not need to come in here stabbin' when you do NOT know the facts.
Thanks.

After reading through these posts this morning I have to say that you are pretty antagonistic to other members of the forum, regardless as to who is "right" and who is "wrong" with their actions/opinions.
This forum may not be a good fit for your personality. You certainly are not making a good impression.

Okay I do not believe that there is any need for this thread to continue. The boys have gotten out and picked up and cleaned all of the mess that ensued from the subsequent mechanical troubles they had on the trail.
Once again everyone's assumptions have led to confrontations on this board that don't belong here. No one has the right to tell anyone else they are not a proper fit for this club. Hell I'm a moderator on here and I can't find anywhere that states what the "proper" fit is for this club. Those of you that are throwing stones have no idea what they went thru out on H2H because you haven't ran it and probably won't run it, so do everyone a favor and give them a break. When you are out in the field with limited resources, and knowledge of the terrain your nerves start to fry. So lets chalk this up as a lesson learned by all and move on. I'm closing this thread before it gets worse.
