I have seen that happen, but on a much smaller scale. That manhole cover was the size of a small car! Must be the presure from run off in the system. All I know is, that guy did not have a good day.

Seen that before. That is just nuts. I can just image the thoughts running through that guys mind looking at the man hole cover. And just how do you explain this to the insurance company.

Its a closed drainage system with no vents, when the drain pipes fill to max if creates it own vacum and explodes back out of the nearest location of least resistance. Much like filling a tube full of water it eventually overflows without air release or volume release. I've seen sewer manholes that are bolted down in drainage areas on forced sewer mains blow, can and is a scary thing. The crazy part was people kept driving thru, reminds me of all the idiots that drive thru washes here in Az during the rainy season. It appears Az. doesnt have a corner on all the idiots.

Yeah no kidding. Funny how theres an enormous geyser of water and people are still driving through it at like 50. And nobody gets out to help that poor SOB who got hit by the giant freaking man hole. LOL at 1:23 when he runs away
