Well I'm trying to find a local powder coater to handle
the finish on them. the welder across the street from me
builds them for me.
To install them you only need a drill and nut driver
attachment. They attach with 1/4" self drill bolts, 8 per
side, 4 on the body seam and 4 at the unibody frame behind
It should take less than an hour to install.
The cost to me unfinished is 152.00....Just got a price on
powder coating....... would be 219.00......Still not a bad
price. We picked up my xj with a neighbors crane supported
only by the rails.

here is a picture of the rock rails I just made for my XJ
What do you think?
They attach to the body seam and the frame rail behind.

Hi Doug,
I am still prerunning the Dupont Cabin trail on July 10-11. I need to because
I'll be leading the AZLR4WDC the following week. This year I really want to go
through JR Canyon. I think the Cinders on the same weekend is great! Both
trips should be a lot of fun for those who go. I would like to make it up to
the Cinders before the end of August myself, If I can find the time!

The rails hook to the body seam and the frame rail, uni-
body rail directly behind it. You hold it up tight to
the body seam and back to the spring perch then attach
using self drilling bolts. They are made from 2x3 steel
with welded caps and 1x2 steel supports to the frame
with 2x3x3/16" steel plates. Pretty beefy!
They should easily support the entire vehicle weight.

Hello all
I've updated my photopoint site to contain pictures of last Saturday's run
to the White Tanks Mountains. I'm sorry, but I can't remember the names of
all the Jeepers on the run, so the pictures are simply named 1,2,3,etc.
I know that there are some members of the Lo-Rangers on the AzVJC list, so
if you would be kind enough to forward the URL to the members of the
Lo-Rangers who were on the run I would appreciate it. If anyone wants
higher resolution or larger copies of these pics, I would be happy to
re-scan them.

Me and Len were talking last night, discussing how we spend the next day after runs maintaining our Jeeps.
I have always found things that needed to be tightened and adjusted after a day of off roading. I don't think there is anyway you can treat your Jeep like we do and just get away with the 3000 mile oil change.
Well, for those without tools or know how, I propose a 'run'.
I say instead of a day of wheeling, we should have a day of Jeep "check-up's". I have no idea of when but the where is even harder to fiqure out. If ya'll could throw out some suggestions or thoughts that would be cool. I have a good tool set and would gladly spend time under anyone's Jeep making sure it's all good. Anyone else up for this?

Nick,
You are 100% correct. The most important thing a jeeper can do next to safety is maintenance. Jeeps are extremely tough 4x4's, but like anything else in life, the jeep will perform only to its great expectations if the person behind it performs in the same quality performance. I have nearly 200,000 miles on my XJ and it performs as great as it always has. I contribute this to the fact that for one, it is a JEEP, and second I always take time to go over my rig after a run. Oil changes performed more often than recommended,(every 2,000 to 3,000), is much cheaper than an overhaul. Being a mechanic by trade, I am very loyal to preventive maintenance. Getting your money out of your Jeep is easy, most of the return is taken care of because of the high quality of the product, but the extra attention given by us is a very inexpensive demand. Some will probably think this is two often ,and this is only my preference. I look for sales on maintenance items and stock ahead, and do the work myself. Going over the rig after every run, makes my next trail run more fun and gives me a more secure feeling , because I know which parts are good and areas that I shouldn't push to hard, for the parts are getting closer to the replacement stage.

Going over the rig after every run, makes my next trail run more fun and gives me a more secure feeling , because I know which parts are good and areas that I shouldn't push to hard, for the parts are getting closer to the replacement stage. Subject: [az_vjc] a proposed 'run'
Me and Len were talking last night, discussing how we spend the next day after runs maintaining our Jeeps.I have always found things that needed to be tightened and adjusted after a day of off roading. I don't think there is anyway you can treat your Jeep like we do and just get away with the 3000 mile oil change.Well, for those without tools or know how, I propose a 'run'.I say instead of a day of wheeling, we should have a day of Jeep "check-up's". I have no idea of when but the where is even harder to fiqure out. If ya'll could throw out some suggestions or thoughts that would be cool. I have a good tool set and would gladly spend time under anyone's Jeep making sure it's all good. Anyone else up for this? Nick nnote@neta.com (Main Address)

Yeah! The forest service eliminated the fun spot right inside the gate and put
in a cattle guard. It's probably for the best since people would leave the
gate propped open and cattle would be all over Butcher Jones Beach. I ran into
the rancher who runs cattle out there a couple of years ago and he was getting
a little irate about the cost of constantly fixing the fences and was planning
on petitioning the forest service to close down public access to the coves
from Butcher Jones Beach. I guess the cattle guard was the compromise.

Plus, I'm down to the last 500 or so miles to my warranty!

Would anyone be interested in what their house looks like from space??
You have to do an advanced search nd enter in your city state etc then you can click on the picture or the thumbnails to move around and ZOOM in. Kinda cool, but a little time consuming. Be Good. Later.

Was that fun or what. I am beating William up to help me get Lil Deb in shape to
take that little ravine on.
It was hot but worth it. William is kicking himself for not making it.

Hello,
I'm new to this group and would like to introduce myself..... I'm Jeff Walter and I have a 1995 Wrangler
Jeep and I'm looking into doing some off roading and looking for a group that doesn't mind helping the slower person along. I have read many of you postings and it looks like all of you have a great time getting together and showing off you Jeeps. As time permits I would like to attend some of the events that might be planned.

I would be very game for a maintenance "run." Especially since I'm not a
highly mechanical individual as far as the know-how. It would be great to
learn what are the important and not-so-important things to keep an eye on.
Plus, I'm down to the last 500 or so miles to my warranty!
Great idea Nick!
