I thought it was a symbol of peace. Nothing wrong with that.

Some history. Found this on accident.

had to post it

The swastika is an emblem of geometric perfection. In the mind's eye it can be stable and still or whirl in perpetual motion, its arms rotating one after another like a cosmic pinwheel. It is unknown why and how the term swastika, "may it be good," was wedded to this most ancient and pervasive of symbols. Most authorities designate the right-hand swastika as a solar emblem, capturing the sun's path from east to west, a clockwise motion. One theory says it represents the outward dispersion of the universe. One of its finest meanings is that transcendent reality is not attained directly through the logic of the mind, but indirectly and mysteriously through the intuitive, cosmic mind. Though Hindus use the swastika straight up and down, other cultures rotated it at various angles

Wasn't it the Egyptians that used the shape for a symbol of peace and the nazis turned it around and made it a symbol of power?

Interesting how the pyramid is also taking off with an eye in the center on the back of the $ bill. Also how the Romans used the great eagle which became the backing symbol of the German army in WWII.

I love history, alot of crazy stuff.

I believe that quite a few tribes in North America used that very symbol to represent life a spirit.

I always equated it to a madman and the death of millions of people. Never knew it had a history other than that.

Did a little search and found this on wikipedia. Not sure how accurate all the info is but an interesting read.
