John Force Accident

Did anyone else see this accident involving john force?

I was flipping channels and came to espn2 just as it happened. It was scary to wath, when i saw the replay and saw that the car had broken @ the drivers seat i was really worried that his legs were going to be badly injured. But the was lucky and only broke his ankle, cut his knee to the bone, and busted up a few fingers.

Yeah, that was a scary sight to watch especially after what happened to Eric Medelin earlier this year.

My dad and I met and talked John at SEMA a couple years ago. My dad called me and told me to switch the channel to ESPN2 before it happened. From the sound of my dad's voice I thought it was going to be worse than it was, although it looked terrible.
I am glad he is alright, he is a great guy.

The replay looked funny to me, like something may have shot out from that other car crossing the center lane? Oh well hope he recovers well.

He won the race :)

i found this online "Good news from Baylor University Medical Center, where doctors operating on 14-time NHRA Funny Car world champ John Force were able to set his broken left ankle and determined that his wrist was not broken but just severely dislocated." I think this is more accurate then the video.

And what you saw shot out was a center lane marker that bernsteins car hit, i don't now if thats what caused his tire to exploded or not, it is only plastic.

Your right, the med center probably has more accurate info. As for the object shooting across, was it even a tire blow out that caused the wreck? It kind of looked like the engine blew.

its really hard to see from that video, but espn showed it slower and from a different angle and you could see force's left rear explode, when that happened the car's fram snapped @ the drivers seat.

Same thing that happened to Medelin, but Force didn't slam directly into the wall doing 300. They were at the end of the run and Bernsteins car cushioned some of the blow.

I saw a comment from him today in the Repugnant that said in all this time drag racing and all the wrecks he's had. He had never broken a bone before.

If you slow down the video the lane marker didnt even hit the tire and it looks like to back half is already out of the car before it crosses the center line and hits the other car and the wall
