A Friend just bought a cherokee, he wants to lift 2", bigger tires and probably new (bigger?) shocks and or shackles. What would be his best plan of attack (I mean besides joining up here of course).
I know nothing bout cherokees, or wranglers for that matter although I recently did an exercise to better understand overcompensation during a fishtail slide.:D:eek::D:eek::D boom
He says it has command track! WTF is that exactly?

Commandtrac is the 2 speed transfercase NP231 commonly found in wranglers, cherokees and libertys. There are many that jeep uses.
What size tires?

Look at an OME or Rubicon Express 3"+ lift ...
See my signature for pics of what this will look like. You can fit about 31 - 32" tires under this kind of setup but save yourself some headache and do a SYE right up front.

OK, I am better now. At first I though 2k was the price and I thought the question was way vague.
Then I realized it was a 2000 Cherokee.
Before that my mind was asking: Full size Cherokee, if full size narrow or wide track? XJ vs Grand if not a full size?
I am still wondering XJ vs Grand Cherokee, but if I remember command track means it is an XJ?
I feel better now.

1.75 coil spacers up front and a 1.75 shackle in the rear.
Some Rubicon Express Mono tube shocks for a nice ride..
