Where is this adit at? I'm pretty familiar with the trail and have done it many times, but don't recognize this.

This mine had an underground spring and was flooded...you could feel the cool air coming from it...

armed with just a friend and a pre-teen (run for your lives!), we were good to go.
fortunatly, the outing was of interest to my friend because he has spelunking experience, with mines in particular. his Jeeping skills, however, don't appear to be quite as good.
the bats we encountered were tucked in former blasting holes in the horizontal shaft that had the neon green water in it's entrance. the other shafts were dry and barren.
would I recommend going into abandoned mine shafts in general? no. definitely not. the second pic I posted is of an uncovered shaft direction.....straight down further than our lights would shine (using a maglight with xenon bulb). the first pic showing braced walls, almost straight up. knowing the limit of our safe exploration, we left that mine in short order.

I think we went off the loop to 3 places MUCH more to explore out there...we kept waiting to see which hole bimmerdude was gonna pop out of :D

It was a great run Cliff (Blkruby) was full of cool info on the mines and surounding areas..Also wanna say thanks to KRWLNXJ he did most of the wrenching on John rig to try to get the fan blades to stop hitting the raditaitor...even the ending was not so bad no one hurt all is good.:)
