I am new to the jeep thing and have purchased a loc-rite for my dana 30 front and trac-loc for my amc 20 rear. I came across this on craigslist and wanst sure what or how good it would be?

Is this some sort of limited slip? Thanks.

full case limited slip would be a waste of time. you pay $100 now but then yo uhave to pay another couple hundred to set the gears on the new carrier. get a full locker or an aussie/lockrite

I had a chance to buy an aussie locker but decide against it. My thinking was:

1. I dont do extreme wheelin (yet)?
2. I have lots of highway driving to get to my hunting places?
3. My son will be 16 soon and be driving the jeep sometimes. I have heard on this site, lockers sometimes are tricky to drive and can throw you into the next lane sometimes?

I think my locker in the front and lim slip in the rear should get me 99% of the places I would like to go and should hopefully be easier on my AMC 20 rearend. (I wish I could afford a selectable locker in rear but not now?)

Maybe in a few years I will make it a real wheelin rig and replace the front/rearends and lock it up:)

lunchbox lockers arent as bad as some say they are on the road. Detroits are what most people complain about. Ill be running a powertrax (sasme as an aussie) when i finish my jeep. Limited slips will only cost you twice as much in the long run. It is your jeep and you know what you use it for more than we do. If an LSD is what you need then thats a decent deal before the gear work. there are quite a few guys around here that do quality gear work for around $150 for club members
