According to JP magazine "Trail Head" Page 6 there is a srong chance of seeing a Cummins light duty by 2009. I don't have anyway to scan the article, if someone does then great! I still think we are looking around 2011-2012. Again consider the source:rolleyes: However they maybe on to something with a cummins as the dodge ram 1500 will see one in 2009 4.2 v6 265HP 440lbs...that would be great in a wrangler!!!! Also something to note:The JK50 sema concept vehicle had a 3.0 CRD, but the sign indicated it was a 4.2 cummins v6 and accoarding to JP they swaped it back for a 3.8v6 gasser?? WHY??? Too early to show a CRD wrangler apparently?

Here are my JK50 pics from Sema 2006:

If that engine comes to the JK... *drool*... well thats at least three years away so I better start saving my pennies for short wheelbase Rubicon with that engine.

I realy thought it was a pipe dream.....Using a Cummins sounds like a reality Vs MB engines which are too much $$$ for Jeep to spend! I bet the GC will get a cummins too and they ditch MB engines all together...We shall see...

I need to save too:D 3 years would be perfect!

I don't know Jason, Pretty much just an editorial from Cappa on what he "Thinks would be a possibility".

But speaking of the new JP edition. Anyone see the 2 page Olympic ad on pages 2 and 3? That windshield sticker and the pic of the JK on Raw Deal look familiar. :D

By no means this is a done deal...it is an opinion and hopefully it happens,BUT with current JK sales I don't see a change any time soon (next 3 years)

I'm still hoping/praying for the Gladiator truck version of the JK with a deisel. It sure would look great parked next to my '71 Gladiator!
