I just lifted my 06 wrangler w/ a 2 3/4 spacers. After doing this I have experienced what others call a "Death Wobble". I would describe the event as a MAJOR shimmy of the front end if i hit a bump in the road at speeds of approx 35- 40 mph. It does not happen above that speed, and can be controlled if at 35mph. I have had it re-aligned a few times but it doesnt seem to fix the problem... If anyone has any suggestions i would appreciate the response!

Thanx:eek:

yeah you need a alignment I had the same problem when I lifted my Jeep with a 2" Budget Boost. Take it to Absolute Off road or 4 wheelers, don't trust anyone else in town, they don't know the Jeep suspension really well. I took it to Brake Plus and had problems.

Mine did real bad because my toe was out. I know you said you had it aligned, but you can check the toe fairly easy and it is a common problem

As Ty mentioned, a steering stabilizer, replaced the one on my Sami after the 4" lift and it solved the DW on that one

A steering stabilizer (while it may work) is not really a solution but more of a band aid. Take it to a shop like 4 Wheelers and have them find the problem and fix it. Either something has worked it's way loose or your alignment is still off. If you're going with bigger tires you'll probably want to upgrade your stabilizer anyway, but you still need to find the problem.

you need an alignment, the toe will cause it:)

Steering stabilizer should smooth things out, but you are asking it to do more than it's designed for if you want it to eliminate the death wobble. Get it all aligned, etc. correct first.

Take it to a off road shop, i.e. 4Wheelers, Absolute, etc... They actually know the jeep systems and can diagnose it correctly. The tire mill shops (Discount, Fletchers) may have a guy but they have to service so many cars throughout the day they may not know to look for or catch something specific that a jeep place would know to look...

Don't waste time, Let Joe at Absolute Offroad figure it out for you. It will save you money in the long run and it will be fixed right.
