Most people still drive their rigs to and from the trail, but there are a few trailer queens.... :D

Does anyone have a wiley's that actually runs? Most people refer to them as projects that their trying to work on. Most of the ones I've seen are pretty beat up looking but not running.

What Willys do you have?

You likely know but for the rest it is pronounced "Willis" as Willys was the owners last name and he pronounced it like in the phrase "what you talkin about Willis?"

My 53 Pickup has seen some trails but currently in the shop for improvements. In the end it will drive itself to the trail.

My 1955 pickup is currently a pile of parts. It isn't going to be a trailer queen or a trail rig. It will probably do as much off-roading as my Commander (which is pretty much nothing).

TRobertsRN, interesting note about the pronounciation. But if you listen to the old promotional video it is pronounced closer to Willys than Willis. Guess it didn't take them long to mess up the pronounciation. http://www.allthingsjeep.com/universal-jeep-video-dvd.html

By the way, this video stays in my Commander's DVD player. That way I can educate my passengers with a little history. :-)

I think it depends on the part of the country you're from. The U.S. has many different vernaculars. For example, I had a coworker who owned a dog she named "Arrow", but she pronounced it "era". She was originally from Ohio.

I have a 1954 Willys 4x4 Station Wagon that might be running by the end of the year. It's been a work in progress for almost 5 years.
