Sharky,

Thanks a lot. LOL! Thanks for making me crazy with all sorts
of ideas, and ENVY, about the badass rig you've got going. Between
your junk and Dan Coley's newly "Hunter-ized" heap I am developing a
bad case of the shakes. I think it's a serious case of the "Me too"
syndrome. I want something like that. And that, and, oh yeah,
that's cool, and that too... guess I should thank John while I'm at
it, since he's the one making the dope, right?
That looks GREAT!!! I hope the sun doesn't dull the shiny new
paint... ;)

Nick,
Absolutely!!! Give him a call and let us know! If he would go $35 I would be

I thought that $50 was a good deal.

Joe,

And here I thought it was on topic because they are certified to do an
underwater recovery of sunken Jeeps. We can use your Jeep as the
training vehicle. I'd sign up for that class.

Hi Gang,

As of noon today we have two new certified divers... AZVJCer Robert
McNeeley and his girlfriend Paula. Robert and Paula spent this weekend
getting certified with me at Lake Pleasant. Visibility was a good 30
feet (the best I've ever seen it at a local lake).

Now... I'll bet you're wondering how this is on topic... <grin>

When I took their certification card pictures, I put them in front of
Robert's yellow TJ... so when they get their certification cards back
from PADI, they will have their Jeep in the background!

I'm going to limit the purple content on my Jeep for now on. A buddy of mine that hasn't painted vehicles for years is interested in getting back into it as a hobby. Sometime next winter I'll get some purple flames on the hood and leave it at that. At that point I'll probably eliminate all of the other purple stuff except for the Mastercraft seats.

Nice tubes! That's some mighty bright paint too...I had to put my shades
on to look at those pics ;)

On another note: In the frontal pic it almost looks as though your front
axle is tweaked. It might just be distorted by the camera lens. Am I
seeing something there?

Anyway, it looks really good.

Thats funny...I remember talking about putting an Exo on mine way back

the fiberglass hood on it now, it was time to protect it. Oh yeah...and Im
still doing an Exo on the back end that I had mentioned. :)

James,

Scott Kruize's brother does a/c and he could probably set you up with an
inexpensive used unit which will give you 10 years AND he can install it.
He did some a/c work for me and he's great to work with and I think you'll
be surprised at how inexpensively he can set you up. Perhaps Scott Kruize
will set you up with his phone number.

Subject: Re: --------------------Master Cylinder or Slave CyLindEr------------??

First check your master reseviour. Make sure it is full and stays full. it
is drains slowly after a few days you have a leak in the system.

If it is the slave you cannot hold it in gear at a stop, it will lunge
forward after pressing in the clutch pedal. Or you cannot change gears while
driving. If it is hard to change gears while driving there may be a problem
with the transmission it's self. Try not using the clutch and easing it into
gear while driving.. just match rpm to speed and it will go right into
gear..

You'd normally see fluid loss if it is the slave cylinder. The seals are the
first to go if your lucky. If not your replacing the entire clutch setup
because fluid contaminated your clutch plate.
If it is the slave master then you may be getting flid on the fire wall in
the drivers compartment. look under or behind your carpet underneath the
dash where the carpet and the fire wall meet.

If your throw out bering is going bad you'll either hear metal scraping or a
high pitched squeeling sound...

Just ran across this web site. It appears to be like an Army Surplus store. One item that caught my eye was they have the "Swiss Metal Fuel Cans" for $12.97 ea. and nozzles for $7.97 ea. I remember a thread a few weeks ago about fuel cans, and how expensive they were. I have no idea about the quality or customer service of this store, but thought I'd pass it on for anyone who wants it:
www.cheaperthandirt.com
They also have tool bags, camping equipment, ammo boxes and ammo, knives, gun stuff, and a lot of nifty little bags etc.

Attached (below) is a letter signed by Thune (SD), Cubin (WY), Hefley, McInnis, Schaffer, and Tancredo (CO), Osborne (NE) and 36 other Representatives to President Bush asking him to oppose attempts to codify or administratively implement the Roadless Area Conservation Rule.
The enviros are working hard to pass legislation that will enact the
Roadless Rule, and I encourage you to thank your Representative for signing this important letter. (Note if your representative has not signed onto this letter, ask him why not. rt)

June 5, 2002

The Honorable George W. Bush

President of the United States

The White House

1600 Pennsylvania Ave., NW

Washington, DC 20500

Dear President Bush:

We are writing to express our strong opposition to any attempts at this time to codify or administratively implement the Roadless Area Conservation Rule, and we applaud your leadership on this complex issue.

Mr. President, as your Administration continues to formulate an alternative Roadless rule, we urge you to diligently seek out meaningful public input, particularly from the local citizens most directly affected by the process. We also hope that you will continue to work with a broad array of stakeholders, including environmentalists, recreational enthusiasts, state and local foresters, the forests products industry, and other interested parties, in search of a consensus resolution to this divisive issue. Finally, we urge you to carefully weigh the implications of this rule’s impact on our ability to protect at-risk lands from catastrophic wildfire.

As you know, when Federal District Court Judge Edward Lodge blocked implementation of the Roadless Area Conservation Rule last year, he described the rule as "fundamentally flawed" and the rulemaking process as "grossly inadequate." He confirmed that "a Band-aid approach to something this controversial may mask or obscure the symptoms for political purposes but does not address the ‘hard look’ analysis for a cure as required by NEPA [National Environmental Policy Act] before environmentally altering actions are put into effect."

The Court validated what elected officials, local communities and forest user groups had argued throughout the process. Specifically, the Court clearly and correctly pointed out that the previous rule: 1) violated environmental laws; 2) disregarded numerous public notice and comment requirements; and 3) ignored the basic understanding of due process when developing and implementing the rule. Despite these findings, we are concerned that various environmental groups and certain members of Congress continue to push for implementation of the rule.

This case needs to be carefully considered in the courts, and appropriate steps must be taken to ensure that procedural and environmental laws are respected. Any attempt to codify the legally enjoined rule would be tantamount to a Congressional end-run of landmark environmental laws like NEPA.

Thank you for your leadership and your commitment on the issue. We appreciate your recognition of the importance of this process to citizens and communities in all corners of the country, and look forward to working with you in the future on this matter.

Sincerely,

Sharky,

It's a great design. It should keep the rocks off that fiberglas hood. I
remember you talking about this last year. I look forward to seeing more

before I did my flat fenders (which you didnt change that design). But
with
the fiberglass hood on it now, it was time to protect it. Oh yeah...and

Michael,

For what it is worth, there is nothing wrong with your original post.
As you said, any idiot...... I can't actually believe someone would
think a brand new heavy duty diff guard could be bought for $10. Hell,
you can barely even by the new grade 8 bolts and lock washers for that
price. I had no problem understanding that the discount would knock
$1-~$15 off the selling price.

Some folks don't have a clue! LOL

Well thank you for being an *** in public.
I replied to it because you made it sound like each unit would be $15 -
"which is about 10-15.00 per unit". Why not just say the actual price
less
the discount? Whatever dude..
