I got the d/30 changed out tonight. it has the steering already done and has a trac lock cable disconnect. still need to check for locker and figure out if the axles are aftermarket. I think I need to install a drop pitman arm.

changing out the d/30 was easy and sunday morning I will put the 8.8 in. I neeed to install shocks, new bushings on leaf springs, get new drive shafts and new exhaust then I will be ready for a shake down run. I've been working on this for a year. I cant wait to get it back on the trail.

What was your take on the SOA vs. the SUA again?

I researched for a long time before I decided to do the SOA. it is a great way to go if done correctly. I made the list of what I thought I needed. and started building. I started with comp cut in the rear and poison spyder tube fenders. I went with the waggy springs to stretch the wheel base. I was working on installing the 8.8 when I got a deal on an 8.8 and d/30 set up for SOA including high steer and trac lock on the d/30. I sold my 8.8 and purchased the set ready to install. the 8.8 has a traction bar installed on it I just need to make a cross member for it to work with my strerch. from my research an SOA is the way to go if done properly but not cheap. I also hear that the 4.5 RE extreme duty SUA is a good way to go.

I've been SOA on my YJ for almost 10 yrs. now. I wouldn't have it any other way. Once you get it dialed in, you'll love it.

I knew it was going to take some money and time to get it done right. and I will be there soon.
