I had the same problem with my Garmin GPS went I first went out to look for the Hyline Geocache. There is a option in your GPS that lets you change the numbers to ft and inches like above. For example in my GPS I go to the main screen and click on setup. Then I have some tabs that say System, Time, Guidance, Rounting, Units, Timers, and Location. So I click on Location and there is a option to change the format. You want the hddd mm'ss.s" location format.

Yea, mine doesnt have that option. I just looked at Magellan's website and its a no go. Mine is a cheapo hand held with no options. Oh well, mabey a time for an upgrade, not that I can afford it LOL

I noticed your post about Magellan Explorist coordinate settings. I don’t know which model of the Explorist you have but the following works for an Explorist 600.
Press MENU
Scroll down to PREFERENCES
Scroll down to MAP UNITS
Scroll down to COORD SYSTEM
Select LAT/LON: From here you should be able to select:
DEG/MIN.MMM
or
DEG/MIN/SEC
or
DEG.DDD
If this does not work for your model, these GPS coordinate conversion websites.

Good luck

There are like 30 different ways to find coodinates on a map. Some of the different web sites have a way to convert if you are finding a cache off their site.
X2 on the last post about changing them

Use the one that matches the form of the coordinates that were posted in the geocache. I switch between them all the time. Let the GPS unit do the work. Do you have the reference manual for your model of the Explorist? If not let me know which model and I'll give you a link for a PDF version.

I have the eXporist 200. I have tho manual and have been to the website. All the posts here seem to have the same type of coord's which mine does not really seem to match up? It seems like all the ones here are posted like.....
N 33 31'53.5"
W 112 34'56.6"

OK, set your Coord System to: DEG/MIN/SEC for that example.
If coord looks like:
N 33 31' 53.5"
W 112 34' 56.6"
set GPS to DEG/MIN/SEC
If coord looks like:
N 33 33.900
W 112 34.950
set GPS to DEG/MIN.MMM
If coord looks like:
N 33.5600
W 112.58250
set GPS to DEG.DDD
Hope this helps.

Here is an excellent example of a full geocache post, it provides all three formats.
