Woken up at 3am by the dog puking and then seeing the living room looked like there had been a puke war, we got out the wet vacuum...Ben and I looked at each other at about 3:30am and he said "God, we look like tweekers up steam cleaning the carpets at 3 in the morning!!"....thank God for humor.
She's at the vet now...we had the option of choosing between a barium xray and an ultrasound after the xray came back looking like something was stuck in her tummy....we opted for barium...as whatever they find will cost more money. :( Poor girl.

Ugh. That sucks. I've been through the same sort of stuff. My old dog ate a pair of pantyhose once (the two leg kind). It took like a week and $100s, but it eventually passed - one leg at a time. Gross.

UUGHHH that was a bad visual (one leg at a time, poor puppy)
I know half of the time I look like a tweeker I could stay up for days on end as long as I had things to do. mostly video games or cleaning, plus hubby had a bad problem with the fact that he never would work a normal day shift so the only way I got to see him at all is if I stayed up all hours of the night

Yech - thank God I don't have any of those around here! I have no idea what she has eaten....in her top 5 so far since we've had her are:
1. our first home contract from KB
2. two PAIRS of 100.00 combat boots
3. a pewter picture frame...she swallowed 1/4 of it
4. the INSIDES of my trail shoes - yuck
5. 1 wooden chess board
--- I have no idea what is in her tummy, but it is time to have a backyard with a dog door! A trainer would be good for her too... I hope she is okay. Vet is supposed to call in a few hours.

LOL - you've been lucky to have no friends/family that did dumb stuff - I know what they look like. If you have a friend that stays up until 4 am picking the lint off of the carpet in the living room relentlessly, they might be a tweeker.

Thats the problem with tweekers...they are in their own little world and spend hours and days on meticulous detail on things that would make no sense to us at all....taking things apart that needent be. :D
Sorry bout the doggy Mike!

Yeah, I joke about looking like one when I'm up cleaning in the middle of the night, but that stuff is no joke.

might be full of goodies(thing that really shouldnt be eaten) or an intestinal blockage someplace

She had a blockage when we were adopting her...but that didn't cause her to throw up...that caused us to not need bags for 3 days....vet said no block...If they don't know by this afternoon she may have to stay the weekend or have more costly tests. :( I want to pay whatever is needed, but it is hard if it goes past what you have to spend. How do you make that call on a member of the family?

get pet insurance. its not that expensive, it pays for itself when things like this happen

Rox was telling me Banfield has it...I want to find out if there is any for other vet clinics...I don't want to leave my vet of 20 years. She's shown up at the clinic at 2 in the morning for our pets before.

you can get outside pet insurance just ask what insurances your vet does cover. and go online and do your research

Used Banfield's own insurance, but was limited to going to them. Then we switched to VPI. Here is their web address if you want to do more research.

Good luck. Hope the little fellow gets better soon.
