I have been advised that there will be a cleanup in the Table Mesa area on October 20, 2007. This comes through Hackle from the Good Gun Club. It seems that some people caught littering have been sentenced to help with this cleanup. Interesting. Perhaps Hackle will comment on this? Put this on your calendar and plan to be there or be square. There will be more data posted here as it develops. PM Hackle if you get excited. :)

No kiddin'!

Me, Jeep, gloves, water. I'll bring the truck, too, since the trailer with the Jeep on it is attached....:D

See you all up there. Hope we have a great turnout. Is anyone supplying dumpsters?

Yes we usually have between 3 and 5 large construction dumpsters that are supplied by the land management agencies.

I was hoping to make this year's TM clean up. I'm going to be on the South Rim (S. Kaibab) trying to fill my Elk tag that weekend. Sorry, but I'll be unavailable to make this one.....:(

I definitely want to try and make it out. This would be my first time on a clean up. How exactly does it work? Would we be hitting all the trails out there? Would my xj on 32's w/ 4.5'' RE be ok? Never had a chance to make it to the TM area so I don't know. Plus im still technically a newb :p

In all the years I've been doing cleanups at TM, I've never cleaned a "trail".

The problem areas are along the access road where shooters usually pull off, set up a pickup truck load of old computer monitors or paint cans, and then shoot the heck out of them. We pick up the pieces and parts of washing machines, dryers, tv sets, sofas, freon bottles, etc....and of course lots of paper and plastic trash. Luckily, these things rarely find their way out on the trails as the 2WD pickup trucks loaded with the junk stay close to the access roads.

Stu is exactly right. This cleanup is generally contained to the major use area's out at TM. Last fall the BTG guys did sponsor a "Trail" weekend where the TM trails were de-stacked, dug out, and de-trashed if need be.

We usually shoot for around 8 or 8:30. As it gets nearer we will nail down a specific time.

Yeah, CD & DS sound good. We just need a leader.

And has a start time been established? I saw a coupld of post about 8 or 8:30 but I didn't see anything definite. See everyone on Saturday.

We'll (bringing my 4 yr old out for his first act of civic duty) be leaving camp at around 7:00am, 35th ave and Union Hills..... :D

Breakfast is 6:30am sharp at Danny D's Cafe on SW corner of 35th ave and Union Hills, decent breakfast and no big early morning crowds....
