I have a National Registry exam on the 16th so I am studying until then but perhaps could we all, or someone set up a geo cache run around the valley? Oh and with a lil class before hand for those of us that got new GPS and are having problems loading them? I have never geo-cached before... Uhhhh, okay I said it, a virgin.... *embarrassed*

My GPS showed I was 300ft away from the cache. I was not about to hike the little bit of a hill thru all those snakes. I had my son and his friends with me and didn't want to take the chance. I was hoping it would be a "family friendly" hidding spot. Oh well, so much for that one!

Yeah, Never been to the White Tanks till last night. Figured I'd give it a shot at night though it looked like a hike was involved seeing as the closest trail to the geocache was .4 miles. I got about half way but in the dark not knowing where I was going I thought knowing my luck I'd get a snake bite or take a nice fall. I turned back. It was worth the city lights view alone though and I will retry Saturday after the benefit car wash.

Only 1 breaking thing . That would be my arm. 10ft away from cach and a misplaced step. I almost logged in book first. If the pain pills work well and i can talk my wife into driving me back there is still hope. Its a great drive and a good spot, just do it in daytime and watch your step. It really sucks typing with 1 hand on meds.

That sounds like a good idea. I guess we can rate the trail and the hidding spot. 1-5 and 1-5. Kinda like the system we already have for the trails. This way we would have a general idea of how challenging it will be to find the cache.
I noticed that www.geochaching.com has a rating system as well.

Yeah either way with stars or numbers!! So next time when you post a geocache(hopefully mine soon) we have to just state what we think it is after hiding it. For a example:
Id have to say Wayne's Hyline Geocache is a 3-5, the trail I took was 2-5(the reason I put 2-5, cause I would think that 1-5 would be a common dirt road where its maintain by someone.
Marks is a 1 out of 5 I think, its very easy you just have to be hydrated and looking! lol :D The trail is a 2-5, I would think.

Well me and Shannon went on a hunt for mudd today in the White Tank Mnt area around 10am until we noticed that there was no  mudd. The ground sucked all the water right up. So we decided to do some exploring on trails that we both havent been on. I remember that I put this Geocache into my GPS and saved it. So as we wheelin out west we came along this Hyline Geocache and figured we stop by and pay it a visit for once(my second attempt! "Note to self, make sure I bring someone in phyiscal fit") :D So yeah we got to the top of the mountian felt great with that cold breeze. Open it up signed are names and took some "WAYCO & HYJAK" cards figure since we are not newbies that leave the other goodies for other people. After that we decided to go the way we came and found some other trails to go on! So actually we just got home around 3pm, it came out to be a fun little run. Pics are below, Shannon modeling with the box!!

paid the cache a visit yesterday, it's still safe and sound. quite the view from the site!
got hung up in tax collector while wheeling solo too, duh. my hi-lift decided to get hung up when it was time to lower the rig back down after stuffing a rock under the rear tire, forcing me to break out a pry bar to unjam the mechanism.
note to self:
1. wheeling solo, not-so-good
2. perform maint on hi-lift
3. (still) need lockers
4. bring bug spray when wheeling the tanks (holy cow, fly city)
5. (still) need better CB

We put new cards in, and the offer still stands, if you catch me at a M&G or anyplace that serves beer, the card is good for a drink of your choice. :drool5: :) You have to sign in the log so I know you have been there.
