Body lift Kit?

I'm looking to buy a 1" lift kit for me 03 TJ. When I stuff a tire they rub on the new "cool" pocket fender flared I just installed, paid some hard earned $ for them and would like to keep them for a bit.

Is there a preference between poly or aluminum. What should I pick, or does it matter?
