anybody use this bumperhttp://www.skidplates.com/images/Page%20Specific%20Graphics/Jeep/TJ/TJ-FBMP/View_1.JPG
it is from skid row. it seems like a modular bumper would be a bad idea. if you were to drop the corner of the bumper on a rock it would not be able to transfer the force across the bumper. i would think it would rip the bolts out.
i also really like this onehttp://www.hansonoffroad.com/imagemagic.php?img=images/JR51202P.jpg&w=640&h=325&page=popup from hanson offroad

Too wide. youre gonna catch it on the rocks before your tires can get to it

X2, in my opinion, if it is a mall crawler(not necessarily a bad thing), these bumpers would be OK. For a true used and abused trail Jeep, you will grow to hate these. I think a front bumper should stop right at the front frame rails. Otherwise you will hit it on the rocks as Dennis said, and your front tires will not be able to get to the rocks to climb. It will be a $700 anchor. If you plan on really wheeling, even moderate trails, take a look at some of the more built rigs front bumpers. You will see almost all of them are very short. I personally just sawzalled the stock bumper just outside of the framerails. I had the same issue of hitting rocks, before my tires could reach it and climb, which led me to my decision. Looking at this pic, you can see I STILL hit it on occasion. :o
