OK so I got a new set of 35"s onder my jeep and I'm afraid I'm going to need just a little more clearance! What body lifts do you recomend, and what problems did you have when installing them? Am I going to need a 1" MM lift too?

I'm thinking the JKS, but it recomends a 1"MM lift! (mas denero!)

Going on a '04 TJ Auto w/AC and 4" of lift

I went with the JKS 1.25". It was real straight forward, although I'm not sure how many products could have the edge, you're really only talking about rubber (or something) spacers.

I did the MM lift as well (jks blocks) and it works great. (i.e. no vibes created etc.) It does require you remove 3/16ths or so (I forget) from the stock motor mount bolt.

You can just trim the fan cover apperently... but I like the finished product.

JKS, the extra 1/4" will help with the MM lift too. And will help correct/clearance any driveline issues like a SYE helps. Raises the motor to help align pinion angle.

Daystar on mine. I would recomend the MM lift to eliminate having to mess with the fan shroud. I moved mine but the MM lift would probably work better and be easier.

me too, I've got the daystar, was a breeze to install... with the daystars you don't reuse/stack OE bushings

Another vote for Daystar. Like that it replaces the stock mounts completely.

Am also running the Daystar 1" MML.

I have many friends who have the Daystar BL and MM lift. They've had no issues with them. Couple of them have been installed for almost 6yrs now.:D

Daystar on my 04. No problems, it's just a spacer. But since I put the Daystar on the Jeep there is a squeek everytime the Jeep gets in a tweeked spot. If I were to do it over again I would go with an aluminum spacer stock mounts.

Sawzall!!!

How does the sawzall help w/a tummy tuck? Isn't that the main reason for a BL? Oh yeah, the older TJ's need an aftermarket gas tank skid. :D

I voted for the Daystar 1" and use JKS 1" MML

I made my own. Saved maybe $40, but I like to do-it-myself whenever I can. I still need the MML.

I went with the M.O.R.E motor mounts and body lift.
I really like them but you do get more engine vibe at idle due to the tougher material they use on the motor mounts.
Good quality.

Doesn't help with a tummy tuck, just helps clearance the tires.(unless you cut out the floor:eek: ) And Allen, I cut on my Jeep before it was paid off!

You lost me there about not helping w/tummy tuck...cut the floor... Are you saying you can cut the floor and therefore don't need the body lift?

In Allen's original post, he doesn't mention anything about needing to clearance for a TT. He just said he needed more room for his new 35s. I was giving him an alternative solution to a body lift/MM lift, with the sawzall remark. With trimming the fenders, it helps to keep the COG as low as possible, while giving more room for the tires to stuff without hitting sheet metal. And technically, yes, you could cut out the floor if you raise the T-case, but I would not suggest it.

Gotcha. I think the wording threw me...
