This what i found in the bottom of my gas cans. Not sure were it came from i buy gas at the name brand gas stations and only keep gas in them for a month or so. These are less than a year old. I'm waiting for a reply from blitz. Any idea what is going on here?

Cheap coating on the inside. Good luck with Blitz. Try the plastic ones next time. Probably NOT what you wanted to hear.

Jerry cans, like anything else can be poorly made or good. Not casting any doubt on the quality of Blitz, dunno.

It appears there is some rusting under the paint in the bottom.

Not rare for gas to have some water in it. About once a year a grab a bottle of Isopropyl Alcohol for about a $1 and pour it into my tank just to clean out the water than may be in there. That is the reason that few gas tank get emptied by the fuel pickup. It doesn't go all the way to the bottom of the tank.

Jerry cans that are less than full and have a vent system on them can also develop water in them from condensation and humidity in the air.

When I lived in Virginia I had a 15x15 den in my basement. I had a de-humidfider and at certain times of the year it would pull an average of 10 gals of water out of the air in a 24 hour period.

I would suggest you pick up a fuel filter for your Jeep or whatever you use the fuel cans for that can seperate gas from water.

I use the Wedco cans, have a lot better luck with them and this place has good prices. The Wedco's don't leak either like a lot of the Blitz cans do!

Good history but there is a mistake.

In fact they are not called Jerry cans, they are called Gerry cans...yes its pronounced the same.

The term "Gerry" is a military term for Germans.

What is the abbreviation for Germany? Ger or it was up until just after WWII when it became FRG (Federal Republic of Germany). If you want to call them Jerry you certainly may, but it is in fact Gerry...cans. ;)

I have a gas and water can mounted on my Jeep if anyone in tthe mesa area wants to see how they are made. I also go the pour spouts and the cool glass ball syphon hose, that is way easier to transfer gas than unhooking the can from the rack and pouring it in!!!

I saw a movie the other night, made in the later part of '43. Name of the movie was "Air Force". It was about the AF in the Pacific in WWII at that time. There was a LOT of actual footage of of air and naval fighting and attacks.

WOW the dialogue was NOT PC to say put it mildly. ;)

It was one heck of a movie I'd highly recommend seeing if you had a Dad or Granddad who served in WWII in the Pacific.

Its based upon the true story of the B 17 "Mary Ann" that fought and was lost in WWII.

If your PC then "this Bud is not for you"!
