My daughter and I took a trip to Costco "Country Club and Baseline" to do a little stocking up and this is what we came out to:
http://inlinethumb42.webshots.com/4009/2001426660037488828S600x600Q85.jpg
It was bound to happen as I don't have an alarm or a Tuffy stereo box.... Isn't it funny how we justify some low life deciding they want your hard earned stuff more than we do...????
Needless to say I was pissed and so was my 11 year old!!!
There were 2 witnesses that described the thief as an average build average height Mexican wearing all white that took off in a silver Dodge truck. No license plate #....
This is just a little venting and a little heads up I guess....
When I went home I did find a little sign of luck????

But sorry to hear what happened... chances are nothing will be recovered.

Sucks you got jacked, but a tent doesnt provide any security. You were an easier target then the guy next to you.

So....what did they get? The red X's are not very informative. I am thinking stereo? Hopefully not the whole Jeep!

Sorry about the red X's the pictures show up fine when I view it?????
Yes, they stole the $600 stereo that the previous owner had installed in the Jeep. I removed the faceplate and locked it in my center console but they pried that up and got the faceplate and ripped the stereo out of the dash..
The witnesses "of course" didn't do anything..
The cops took a report over the phone, but didn't have much to go on...
I got to go buy a new stereo...
I will be putting a lock box and an alarm in "instead of a full cage"...... For now...
I just really hate that people "scum" think that they deserve your stuff more than you do!!!! I hope they choke on that crack!!!
But, as I told my daughter: If they want it bad enough, they will get it!!! We can hope that Karma gets them!!!!

Sorry dude that sucks. I had someone break into my XJ a year ago and take my stereo. I was pretty mad about it, so I know how it must feel. Always sucks to replace something that didn't need replacing.

sheesh i got my stereo ripped off a couple weeks ago too
luckily it was the only thing they saw of "worth" in my jeep
my tool box was in the back, as was my cb, they figured my $90 stereo was the thing worth the most...
it sucks though..and i know what you mean...i yelled at myself more than the &$%hole who took my stuff!

Man, that's a bummer. I can't stand thieves either! I've lost plenty of stuff from my vehicles being broken into. Now, what I want to know is how many cameras are installed in the Costco parking lot? And why can't they bring up the footage of the incident and get the plate number? The commercial cameras that these stores use are high quality and could probably read the receipt in your hand. I bet if someone shoplifted a $5 item and ran out the door to his car and drove off they would have that plate number in 2 minutes. But what can we really do? If I ever catch someone stealing a car or something out of a car, I swear I will make sure he remains at the scene until the cops arrive. Sorry that happened to you.

Thanks for the replies, I think I fixed the picture problems..???
The Camera's "didn't seem to pick anything up" according to the security folks..
I agree though, had someone ran out of the store after shoplifting, I bet the camera's sure would pick something up....

A few months ago someone posted that they were at Costco
and had someone in their jeep....
I think Costco needs to get some security cameras or have
security patrol their parking lots...

I swear, if I ever see someone ripping something off of me or someone else I'll make sure to get retribution for me and everyone else they've ripped. Thieves are the lowest form of life in my opinion.
And they always rip stuff off from the nicest people it seems like. Shaun just gave me his old rock sliders and discos for free. BTW Shaun, I just put on the sliders at work and they fit very great. The discos were a bear to disconnect so I put the jks back on so if someone else needs some discos for a 3-4" lift they are here and they are free. Sorry to get a little off topic. Wish I had a spare radio I could give you.

Sorry to hear about the thievery. At least one of the witnesses should have yelled, "Stop! Thief!" Then others would have looked around and the perp would have run. People need to start standing up for each other.

I agree about Costco needing patrolling security guards!!!!
Jim: Glad to hear that they fit!!! Sorry about the Disco's not working. Did you get your pin straightened out?
Stomper: I really agree with that!!! If people would just start looking out for one another again, these damn thieves might think twice!!!!
sms1688: this stereo was in the Jeep when I got it too $50 or $500 it doesn't matter, the feelings are the same when you walk out and your pride and joy is ripped apart by some *****hat that only wants a quick buck!!!

Dude you had one get stolen too? My parents F350 4x4 was stolen 2 years ago at the Target in Goodyear. Remember that big deal on the news where that cop went into a Tow Truck shop and he noticed a whole mess of missing vehicles on his list when he arrived there. To make a long story straight, that company was stocking up on vehicles then selling them to whoever. My parents truck was used to smuggle illegals back and forth in this country. All the seats where ripped out of it and human belonging where found inside the truck when they found it at the tow truck shop. Since the truck wasnt repairable along with other problems they went ahead and salvage that one and gave them a brand new truck similar to the one they had before. If I ever saw anyone breaking into a vehicle I would simply walkl up to it as if its mine and be like WTF are you doing!!!:D

Thieves are the lowest form of life in my opinion.
I think child abusers/molesters are the lowest form of life, but thieves do run a close second!
I gave up on stereos a long time ago in my Jeep. The elements always did them in. Besides, can't hear anything very clearly over the swampers anyway:D

Yeah I got the pin straight, the bracket bent back very easily. I'll keep those other ones around and if anyone wants them they're free. Let me know if you come across anyone else that can use them or if you want them back. Thanks again!

I agree with Easyover about the lowest form of life being "rapists/child molesters/abusers". I disagree about the stereo not being heard though!!! With a big enough amp you can hear mine very well, even running down the freeway with MTR's... :D
Jim, good to hear... No problem on the QDC's. I may just put a free post up for them.
Just an update:
I did end up getting another stereo installed. I went to Cronic car audio on Alma school "same place I bought my amp". They did a great job installing it and the warrenty was pretty cheap!!! I asked him if it even covered dust failure and he said sure!!! we'll see.........

D*mn, they did a serious number on your dash. They must've used a freakin crow bar on it.
Sorry for the loss. Had a stereo stolen out of mine too. Cut the side windows to get it. Put a stock one back in ever since.

I feel for you and the loss. For all of you that have suffered any thing like this. For what it is worth, about 3 months ago the wife & her sister had taken her XJ to Wal-Mart. They came out about 30-40 minutes later and her deck was stolen! The didn't touch the amp or sub that my son installed in there for her but they sure took the deck. Then just a couple of weeks ago (the 12th to be exact), her 2004 Mustang 40th anniversary GT convertible was gone. SOB's stole it out of the drive way, did whatever they wanted to do with it then dumped out west of Tonopah and burned it.......Car didn't even have 30,000 miles on it yet
Let me catch a thief and see what happens. I have had it. I hate to say it but I don't know if I could be as nice, patient, and cooperative as I was when my brother-in-law got ripped off and we followed them and then waited for and assisted the MCSO. I am on the verge of taking "immediate, swift, and severe action" if you know what I mean...........I wonder how long someone can run along side a Jeep while chained to the bumper before they fall victim to the mud terrain gods????
You know, some middle east countries do have a good custom for thieves.....they lop off their hand!!!

Youre my hero!
In response to all the e-tuffguys, how do you know if the person is actually breaking into the car to steal something? Maybe they are trying to get into their own vehicle. Ive had to break into several of my vehicles. I totally sympathize with having stuff stolen. Ive lost a ton of stuff to thievery.
Call me selfish/petty, but if its not mine or someone that I know, its none of my business, hope your insurance is paid up.
Besides, Im not in the habit of scouring the parking lots looking for would be thieves... I have better thing to do.

There is a "gentleman" that can attest to the fact that I DO TAKE IMEDIATE AND DECISIVE ACTION when required. He has the scars and limp to prove it. I'm sure he thinks of me everyday....and yes, he is alive today by my choosing. No, not bragging, just stating facts.
As far as what you say about a car or stereo is not worth getting shot over....you're right but you're telling the worng people. Get that through the thieves' heads!
