I want to keep the bed and cab from the Nissan for another project (in signature)....But space is tight so I may have to get rid of them and just buy that stuff later on...
What do you think is the easiest way to get rid of it? Any legal complications I need to watch for? Any shop ou there want that stuff? Heck you pay my gas I'll tow it to your place.

Be careful with the cab. if you have any intentions of making it street legal, you are going to want to do something about the title and VIN plate first on the cab before you junk it all. Once it is gone, it could be an up hill battle to register it.

Yeah..take the VIN off and keep it to make your project LEGAL!!!! What ever project you have in mind would be better off using a fiberglass cab and bedsides...Less weight!

This is sorta true. Techincally, if you remove the VIN plate from the cab, that's a felony. Granted this whol rebuild a truck thing can be very gray when it comes ot buggys and tubed out monster. One guy will let you go, one guy will bust you. Its a touch call. To do it the safest, if you even think you are going to reuse the VIN plate or ANY numbers from the truck first go down to the MVD and get a salavage title slapped on it. Tell them its wrecked, you need to rebuild the cab, rust, rolled, etc, etc. This will help pave the way and you can keep track of all the numbers later and you will be in good shape for later. You can prove ownership of it all.
According to the letter of the law, if ANY number is removed, altered or lost, the vehicle can be subjected to impoundment and inspection. Your junk gets towed on the spot and it can be exspensive. You cut off a frame section that had a ID or weld a shock hoop over number, you are in violation and its gone.
Now granted, a lot of common sense can come into play and most officers or MVD personal will realize what happened and be cool with it. But the more work you do, the more you modify the more you run the risk of having to explain your self.
Once upon a time, I was faceing two felony counts which would have put me in jail. I had my junk towed and hauled off. I had to go to court and fight it. I was lucky and the DA saw that there was no criminal intent but it still cost me a lawyer and a lot of stress. I learned my lesson the hard way due to the fact that I cam across "that one" officer.

Are you saying just to remove the stuff from the cab and contact dmv or just removing the shiz and junk it...
It's already registered...I'm not gonna call them to investigate:rolleyes: The original dashboard will be used which has the vin#...please don't tell me I have to keep the cab 98% has been stripped already:eek:
Any member got into complications for not having a having a cab? Just original frame, dash, all stock and dot approved wiring/lights, and a dang 100feet of plumbing.

Haveing all that may not be bad at all. You mighth get hasseled but you can show "overwhelming proof" you own it. If it were me, I would cut the VIN plate out of the cab, leaveing it attachedto the sheet metal... so if its 3x4 inches, cut a 4x5 section out. One, no one else can get and if you really run into trouble, you have. Keep it at home in a safe place.
