Albeit that looked like a good deal, I checked out some other stuff and found the prices at or near full MSRP.

DeWalt, HD 14" cutoff saw, $149.99. They were $139.99 at Sears and waited for a sale and got it for $119.99, brand new.

I also checked out some of the other DeWalt stuff since that is what I own and just didn't see much cost savings other than shipping/sales tax.

DeWalt has a local outlet store here in Phoenix where they sell recon stuff.

I thought that $297 shipped for a Hobart 175 was a GREAT DEAL.... I've been looking at these for quite awhile.... Finally get to ditch the antique (just old) and tired Flux only AstroPower POS

FYI: I'm not pitching there website or store....... Other people I know have ordered there while waiting for the recons to get in.....

I'd say that's a great deal on a 230v MIG. A 175 can weld just about anything you want on a Jeep single pass...

Great, Jeff.

I suppose, in fairness, I need to buy the bender now? Got any good, hydraulic ones, with 1.5 and 1.75" dies for $300??? ;-)

Lets see ... A.M's got a plasma.. bender as well.. we all live withing 5 miles of each other... (more or less) we all enjoy brew and B.S. .. what do you need a bender for ???? You find a hydo bender for $300... we should buy 2 of them :p

Since A.M. wired my garges to accept the right 220 outlet I should be Disco...

Give you a few brews and you're an ace at welding TJ !

Great find. Sure wish I saw that a few weeks ago before I bought my Playskool 110v.

I looked at manual benders at Harbor Freight. They have a table top version that will bend 1.5 1.75" tube. I would like to make a rear bumper/tire carrier. Is it any good?

That bender is for square / soild bar iron (like decoritive stuff) not for bending tube....

Here's a quick question....

What do I need to purchase to make a good sized extention cord ? Gauge of wire and misc parts.... Any rule of thumb on being to long ??? I'd at least like to be able to manuver around the garage and make be out the garage door a few feet...

I had a electrician bud make one for me. I said I want best of everything and 60 ft. It cost me $600. And that was all material!:)

I built one for my old Lincoln so I could run it from the dryer receptacle. I had about 100' of very heavy gauge three wire cord. Not sure exactly what gauge it is.

I used it here when Matt H. brought his welder over when we were doing my axles. The dryer recept. is upstairs and it was plenty long enough to reach all the way into the garage. I had to make a pigtail cord to convert from 4 wire to 3 wire (http://www.virtualjeepclub.com/showthread.php?t=16428) since this new house has a 4 wire receptabcle.

I would just go for the bottle, unless you are doing most of your welding outside. I hate welding with flux core (splatter, smoke, etc). Much nicer with the gas. I just refilled my 120 CF bottle at Phx Welding for about $50 but not sure what the initial cost of the bottles are.

Check the max amperage rating on the unit (prob around 25-30 amps) then you can figure out the wire gauge. I think Home Depot sells 8 and 10 gauge three wire cord that's suitable and the ends as well to make your own. It's not cheap though. I think 50' is a good size.

Where do you guys live, can I join the club :)

I have a plasma, TIG, Stick, Mig and a little fridge with beer :D

I wire my garae with a 220 panel then put in a dryer plug.

I put a dryer receptical on the other end of a 50' cord. All of my 220 users have a druyer cord on them so I can plug them in and use them all the way out to the street.

 I went to the web page to order it but they're out of stock

Anything similar out there below $300??? Gas optional would be great as I have co2. I just can't seem to find as good of a deal anywhere else.

Finally getting a toy!

EDIT: Wallet is now empty http://store.weldingdepot.com/cgi/weldingdepot/WE6524P-1.html

s'lot more $ :( but waiting for that hobart to be in stock is like waiting for the the world to stop turning. I heard the wire motor is a little weak on the Clarke so I can't put an 8" torch but I won't so whatever I'll give it a shot.
