Subject: TipTop Tomorrow - Time and Place?
Looks like we have a crowd (see below). David, could you please elaborate on
the meeting place. Is this on Deer Valley Rd, East? of I-17? at Texaco? or
at McDonalds? If you make it 8:00 a.m., I'd like to ask for a chance to grab
some breakfast at McD's before leaving.
Returning via Lake Pleasant sounds fine. Sounds like you've done this
before. I'll leave the details up to you, but please post them so we can
coordinate the meeting place and time.
Just in case you decide not to go, please post the meeting place, and I'll
meet anybody that wants to go there at 9:00 a.m.
Regards,
Eric

Are the McDowell Mtns trails still open to motor vehicles? I hear they plan on shuttng them down in the near future. Do you know when? I used to go out there when I was in high school (a long long time ago) and haven't been back since! Can you still get back there via Rio Verde Rd? I'd love to go back there again!

Well...it's almost tax time, and it reminded me what Douglas Adams once
said:
"I love deadlines......especially the sound they make as they go
wizzing past."
And what better way to alleviate the stress of deadlines then to do a
run, and clean up some garbage.
So...since it's been awhile, I thought I'd re-send this note. We had a
really good response for the trash run, so we should have a good turn
out.

There now seems to be a quite a following for May 1 (dballard, gandre01,

The announcement for the cleanup is in the ASA4WDC Wheeldust. They printed verbatim. I just changed the case from first person to thrid person (replaced "I" with "Doug" eveywhere).
FYI: The Sycamore Creek Rec Area Cleanup is April 18. Meet out there at 9:00am. They plan on having a raffle in the early afternoon. Sorry I don't have any more information.

Hello All.
Here is more info on the Redington Loop Run. The trail rating would
classify as a challenging 3.5 rating. The trail is just off of Redington
Road which is just outside of Tucson (to the northeast side). The trail
will take most of the day to run with a 9am start time on Saturday April
17th.
We will be camping off of Redington Road. There are several camp spots to
choose from depending on the size of the group. The camping is primitive
(no running water, etc..). Altitude is approximately 4000 feet.
On Sunday the Tucson Rough Riders are doing a work run on Rice Peak which is
on the backside of Mt. Lemmon. This trail is rated a 3 and people are more
than welcome to come along. Don't let the term work run be a deterrent as
this run is more a picking up trash along the way than trail rebuilding.
Feel free to ask more questions as Leah or I will be more than happy to
answer them. It should be a great time and a great chance to see what those
of us in Tucson do for fun.
Thanks.

We had a
really good response for the trash run, so we should have a good turn
out.

FYI: The Sycamore Creek Rec Area Cleanup is April 18. Meet out there at 9:00am. They plan on having a raffle in the early afternoon. Sorry I don't have any more information.

I'd like to go. Can you give us trail ratings and a rough outline of where
we're going and where we would stay overnight? (i.e. altitude?).

How are you all doing?
I'd like to hook up with you guys and gals for some of your upcoming runs. My Jeep is a 99 TJ (replacing my 95 YJ). Please give me some info on the upcoming Tucson run as well as Crown King (I've ran that one at least 6 times). It would be great to break in the new setup soon and meet some fellow Jeepers.

Subject: More Info on the Tucson-Redington Loop Run
Thanks.
Jeffrey

Sounds great. I'd like to meet up with you all for the Saturday run. Just give me better directions and a location where you all will be meeting and I'll be there with my TJ by 9. Scott OSMTJ@psn.net

Sounds great. Could you post directons to the assembly point, good place
to gas up, etc. A number of us will be coming from Phoenix and are not
real familiar w/ the Tucson area. Thanks

I will post exact directions to an assembly point on Monday as well as a
place to fuel up. I need to touch base with Leah to be certain of the
meeting point, but as soon as I find out I will post the directions on
Monday.
Look forward to seeing everybody.
