I will be working this event to help get all the 4 wheel drive info on the maps to be submitted to the BLM.
1) I need someone to help me on the maps and comment board during the meeting, please:D .
2) This is an open house type meeting you do not need to be there at the start or for hours.
3) We need a good turnout to show how important this area is to us.

The Bradshaw Foothills Coalition
A small group of people working together to make a big impact
Greetings fellow outdoor trail enthusiasts:
Mark your calendars. The Bradshaw Foothills Coalition is hosting a route designation workshop on June 16, 2007 from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Lake Pleasant Outdoor Recreational Center. The purpose of the workshop is to gather user data and current trail usage information from all user groups and/or stakeholders in the Bradshaw Foothills area.
We would like input from all user groups, including ATV, motorcycle, 4-wheelers, private property owners, equestrians, rock-crawlers, hikers, wilderness and/or those with environmental concerns, bicyclists, hunters, birders and mining interests.
The information gathered at this workshop will be compiled and given to the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) to be used in its ongoing route evaluation process. The more inclusive this information is, the more use it will be to the BLM, and the more influential it will be.
If you have a favorite trail or loop which you would like to stay open, areas that you feel should be designated for a specific user group or concerns and/or input about recreation and travel management in this area, this workshop is a chance to give us your input and make it count.
We are counting on you to voice your opinion on these highly recreated areas so that everyone gets a chance to be heard so please do your best to attend or just stop by with your comments. Thank you for your participation in advance.
See you at Lake Pleasant on June 16th!

I just need someone to write down the comments made and help me explain the maps and what we are doing. We can go over that in the morning of the meeting. Who ever helps me will need to be there at 8:30 and will need to stay until 1:00.

Hey, everyone! This affects the Back way to Crown King! Anyone who has participated in one of those runs should take an hour out of their Saturday morning to drop by!
Jim, I will swing by, but will have the little one in tow, so will not be able to help with the whole event. Anything I can do prior to that to help?
The roads I want to make sure are on there are the Wagoner Road from Kirkland Junction, as well as the connector from Button Mine to both Oro Belle Mine and Senator Hwy. (I will have to check where the USFS and BLM border is for these roads).
Thanks!

I was reading on a Colorado forum that their land meetings are 'ON-HOLD' as some Californian judge has ruled George W's land plan unconstitutinal.
Anyone else hear about this?

What is going on in the Forest Service:
Pike San Isabel Forest Plan Revision process - comment period one complete - California Judge Ruling made everything a moot point
8 scoping meetings for the Pike San Isabel Forest Plan Revision process were moot points after a Northern California Judge ruled that the Bush Administration's new planning regulations were "unconstitutional."
Gunnison National Forest
Gunnison is in the process of reviewing initial pre-scoping information received from user groups regarding their upcoming Travel Management Plan. Meeting dates for the scoping portion of the process should be announced and conducted over the late spring/early summer months. THIS IS ON HOLD DUE TO THE CALIFORNIA JUDGE RULING

9th Circuit Court of Appeals has ruled against Forest Service continuing with FOREST PLANS for the time being. The TRANSPORTATION PLANS are moving forward as planned. Forest Plans are for the entire PICTURE of Forest Planning. The enviros are claiming every acre, area, or inch of lands must be assessed under NEPA. GWB has simply agreed that Land Use Plans as a whole do not need NEPA........... the NEPA is to be done when each individual area or use is implemented. Enviros are fighting this.
BUT............. the planning meeting scheduled for the 16th is NOT Forest Service.................. it's BLM. It involves OUR TRAILS in and around Table Mesa. BLM planning is not under protest and will continue as planned. YOUR voice needs to be heard and YOUR TRAILS need to be identified. We ALL need to INSURE BLM LISTENS AND CONSIDERS ALL OF OUR INPUT.

I'm going to play stupid for a second....where exactly at Lake Pleasant is the meeting? I've driven by the Lake to go up the Backway to CK or to go to Wickenburg, but have never actually been to the lake.

Take Carefree Hwy west......... Before you actually get to the lake......... long before the Castle Hot Springs Rd at MP 19 is a sign and major turnoff to the Lake Pleasant Harbor/Recreation area. It's just before you go into the turn heading west again. As you continue up the road the harbor and camping area will be on your left. Just beyond this area will be a gate. If the gate is closed it will have a CODE stuck to the gate itself to allow entrance. If open continue through to the building at the top of the hill. Can't get lost.

This Saturday is our first birthday with out baby girl, so I won't be able to make it. Please, spare as much time as you can this day and come to the meeting, if we don't get everything together and put forth the effort now we will lose pretty much so every trail in the TM area that we like to wheel.
Thank you in advance to all those who can make it out there for your participation.

I respnded once but I don't see it here. I'm in Detroit or I would come. Kinda hard to change that fact. I can't just pop in to meetings after work since I'm out of town when I'm at work.
Sorry,

Me and the wife were there from about 9:00 to 11:30 today. Lots of people there, unfortunately most were with other groups. The Equestrian group had great turnout as did the ATV/MC. Property owners did pretty well also. About the only group that had less of a turnout than the 4x4 were the Hikers/Wilderness. This was atleast while we were there. Still had 1.5 hrs left, hopefully it turned around for the 4x4 group.
Me and the wife are pretty new to this so I have no room to hctib, but it's going to be pretty hard to re-open trails once there closed. We have to do something now. Sucks that those riding the horses had a better turnout.
Thanks to a few we still have somewhere to wheel. I don't particularly want to build my CJ only to have to trailer it to a selected ORV park or even worse, park it in the garage.
Thanks to Hackle, Sandee, My1stJeep and all others that DO something to help. gnihctib does no good if it goes unheard.
Rant over
Thanks Walter
