Situation: 1998 5.9L ZJ front axle is a D30 w/ CV axle shafts instead of U-joints at the knuckles. The CV's are worn and on the way out.
Question: Is it possible / worthwhile to replace the ZJ's CV axle shafts with U-joint shafts from a TJ D30?
Anyone know; anyone already done it?

you'll feel a tiny bit of steering feedback in the front when turning sharply with u joints and the 249 case. No big deal. XJ shafts work fine as well. Make sure you adjust the steering stops, the CVs turn a bit sharper than the u joint shafts can. Enjoy

Good info to pass along.....putting a u-joint into bind due to too tight of a turning radius will certainly shorten its life.
