The meeting went as well as to be expected there were 56 of us ranchers, jeepers, hunters, fisherman ect.Lots of questions from our side and alot of questions that could not be answered by Forestry,we had a rep from the enviromentalist and he looked totally board just being there,I wanted to ask him some High powered questions as well as antman but we restrained our selfs and let the meeting go onward,I guess the main reason for this meeting was for them to tell us that there would be no more public meetings for awhile as there have been some setbacks between forestry and the Inviromentalist so everything has been setback for 6 to several months...Just thought you would want to know.......T.C.

Really last nights meeting was to tell us their plans were on hold. There was a law
suit and the 9th circuit court ruled the FS can't use the 2005 rules and have
to revert back to the 1982 ruling with EPA and NEPA and all the other stuff, so
everything is on hold I guess while this is appealed. Then the TNFS people showed
us how most of this stuff is out of their control, either by rules of engagement m
ade by the congress or regional headquarters staff. Also get
used to G&F being involved especially if the 1982 rules are valid because of
the encroachment on WILDLIFE, G&F WILL be involved in back road rulings.
I really feel sorry for the FS people who are trying to get something done. They
put on a good face, but you can still see their disappointment. Basically, it
all comes down to MONEY and budgets. When your at the bottom, there's
not much left. Government, been there, done that, and don't want the shirt!!
:(
BTW the red shirts out numbered the rest 2 or 3 to 1!

Thanks for the update and great job getting so many red shirts to the meeting!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I forsee alot of that happening. Progress being made by the land management organizations based on government mandates sent down to update, then when the updates show that previous rules were not necessary the enviros will sue to have the old rules put back in place. It all comes down to money, not sure when we are going to finally get the message, but we are going to have to start getting the cash flow coming to so that the OHV community has the ability to sue back to win some of these.

I have the feeling when they do come back to our table that they will have a plan set in stone with the inviro's and we won't have a word in edgewise....
