Backway to Crown King

The Backway to Crown King trail follows an old mining road from Lake Pleasant to Crown King.

The trail is always changing...especially after rainfall. The difficulty depends on conditions. It is challenging after the rain or during the winter when snow will be present near Crown King. Stock 4x4s can run this trail.

The VJC has an anniversary run every August.

First obstacle. Like many of the obstacles, there is a bypass.

When you start getting close to Crown King, the trail begins climbing up the switchbacks.

Once in town, you can "creatively" park and enjoy a cold one at the bar or stop in the store for some fudge.

I had a blast today! For such a large group, we did awesome! There were a bunch of little issues but we worked through them all. Jeff and Travis did an awesome job keeping the group moving while remaining in CB range. Great communication everyone! And everyone else did awesome on the obstacles! Good wheeling with everyone!

I was tail gunner and hung way back to try to avoid the dust.

Eric blew a tire on the access road. We were all scratching our heads wondering how it could have happened. The rest of the group kept moving while we got it changed. We caught up at the first obstacle.
