So I got this 2004 Vw Jetta TDI with only 60K and had been driving it back and forth to save gas! So, I'm off on Tuesday and decide to take the kids and wife on a scenic drive up 89A through Prescott. The trip was nice despite my wife getting car sick because I was driving around the corners a bit fast for her taste! So we eat lunch and cruise the town and finally decide to head home and a LOUD "POP" and the car had no power and I coasted to the side of the rd without incident. I'm now thinking ohhhhh *&?@! What am I going to do, I'm 100 miles from home! After getting myself together I jump on my handy PDA cell phone and look up a Certifed VW repair shop and Call Prescott Imports and talked to Anthony, he was helpfull and eager to help and said call the VW roadside and they will tow you here. Remember..out of waranty??? I called and they were more than helpfull and dispatched a tow truck. They then called back to give me a ETA and let me know they would pay for the tow bill!!! WOW...thats service! We were towed over to Prescott imports and anothony and his tech imediately pushed my lifeless car to the service bay and began CPR! After a few short test they found that the turbo blew up and took and a few pipes with it including the 02 sensor! That said, He called a rental company and got us a set a wheels in no time flat and away we went. Now the bad news! Its going to cost an arm and a leg to repair! Anthony sent me an estimate, I then called around and checked the service book for appropriate shop charges and they were dead on and did not try to gouge me for my perdicament. I have to say I am more than impressed with the service and treatment of the whole crew. So if you have an german import give these guys a call if your stranded or live in Prescott!

Holy Crap! Are those guys still around? We took my girlfriend's (now my ex-wife's :p) Scirocco there for repair in 1991! They did great service for minimal price even back then. :D I guess that is why they are still around.

Well..hopefully its just that! I figure I have to own this vw for an extra 8 months to pay for the gas difference in my Jeep Vs this very expensive repair!
