Is anybody interested in running Martinez Sunday? I haven't been up there for over a year. It's supposed be a little cooler this weekend, could be fun. 8am at the flagpole? All I need is at least one other jeep and we're gone.

I've been wanting to see what shape the structure is in these days. Seen the cabins a few months back, compared to what they looked like 10 years ago when there was still glass in the windows, has me wondering about the mine and Pioneers Cave. I am glad I got to see the canyon then. I can be up there early.
Are you talking about flagpole meet up spot right off Cotton Lane?

That's the place, it's about 5 miles south of HWY 60 off 79. So, are you good to go?

Was just in there last weekend. The structure is looking pretty good for as old as it is. And heading up into the mine at the top of the canyon was awesome.

good to go. just gave the XJ a good goin over this past 2 weeks, they were slow at the shop, so it got extra attention. Might be just me and a dog, I don't wait around for friends who say they want to go along, the jeep leaves my drive on time!!
So let's confirm a meeting time at flag pole. 7 or 8 am? what ya think?

8am @ flagpole! I can do that! I wanted to run the canyon last time I was there, but I was the biggest jeep there. Everyone else was near stock!

I was up there last weekend for the first time taking my xj out and had a great time with me and my oldest son but we stopped just before we got to the mine because I wasnt sure it I could make it past the section right befor the mine. (2" lift on 31's open/open) I might have tried it but the other guy we were with had problems so we walked up to the mine about and 1/8 of a mile. It was pretty cool but could have been a lot nicer had people not shot it up and destroyed some of the stuff inside. I might meet you guys up there if I can I'm only like 20 min away from there

hey guys, mind if I tag along, boss told me to take off until Monday when I go back to the doc. my Jeep might make it, but I have fears of Cotton (my 98 got totaled on that road when someone in a 3/4 chevy came over center and hit me head on).

I ride the hiway on CB chan. 17, does anyone have preference once we get close to cotton lane?
Man that's a little worrysome, getting hit head on, drivin cotton lane. ..... I pretty much drive it as though a group of quads is about to appear suddenly, cause they do.

That rough spot right before the cabins is bad.

I think the typical CB channel is 4 on the tail. Most of the VJC look for us there!

The last time I went out there a guy was stuck in the canyon and had been waiting all day for someone to come weld his LCA brackets back on! He had busted BOTH!

The last time I was there I didn't try that bad spot. I did get to see a Bronco and a Jeep get mangled on those rocks. The only thing I see do those rocks good was a samari that moved and looked more like a crab than a vehicle.

Got room for another?

I have run past the mine until my buddy had issues with his clutch. Would love to finish the loop! Plus this was my last real run before i put on 35's. Interested to see the difference.

I was there last Saturday and have one word of advice... "Bug Spray". Not sure why but all up and down Cottonwood Canyond Rd and even at the cabin our group was attacked by nats and no-see-ums every time we stopped.
