Hello everyone,
We had a chance to do a small amount of wheeling yesterday (Sunday). We were out off of Patton road west of the Hassyampa river. We came down through a few washes out there and ran across three vehicles. Two cars (or rather what's left of them) and one relatively new Ford Expedition. The cars are on their bottoms, no tires, etc. The Expedition is up on it's side, no wheels, stereo, etc. and the rear drive shaft was torched cut.
In any case, I was wondering if anyone knows who to contact about these as I am not sure who is responsible for the area that they are in (BLM, County sheriff, etc). I did not have a GPS with me nor a map so grids are out of the question but I may be able to lead someone there. Also, would the club like to recover these vehicles as a community service after the proper authorities are made aware?

Just wondering.
Thanks.

If you can determine which county you are in, the first call should be to the sheriff of that county to make sure they are not stolen or involved in a crime. You don't want to be pulling around a "hot" car. :) It is possible then, that the sheriff will be able to tell whose land it is on....state or BLM. Is it possible it was in a "National forest" or something? Good luck. :)

if you go to blm there will be an interactive map with the diff land ownerships plotted out. call the sheriff first. they will guide you in the right direction. Get some vins and locations if you can.

Yup, call the county S.O. your in. Best bet to start there. Give the best cordinates/directions you can. Dont yank it until you get the OK. It could turn out be a crime scene with more than just a stolen car torched and dumped.

Thanks guys, I will follow your guidance and contact MCSO. Right now I am a little overwhelmed with work and not sure when I will get back out there to get the VIN's and try to get a better location but I will at least try to get the ball rolling on them.
