Ouch! That's a bummer Daniel, I know - I have busted both sides of my D35. The second time trashed my lockrite also, so I happily put the spider gears back in. I hope you didn't do too much damage. Do you need help? I am on the other side of the world at the moment (East Mesa/AJ) but if you need help I'll start heading that way.

Mine blew up the first year I had it, it has since been replaced for a dana44. The spider gears blew in mine and then got into the ring and pinon, runining all of it...kind of a blessing.

I have a d35 housing that's for sale if you want to just swap something else in. It's been narrowed a bit so it may take some work to get it to fit. ;)

no its not, drill the center of the bolt first then the easy out will screw into that

I use these now 100% better than the old style easyouts

they drill in with the drill in reverse and remove the bolt using the drill for power

well i cleaned it up a bit and what it looks like really is the outer lsd plates broke out some hoe and it went down hill from there:eek:

daniel

so how hard is it to put in a carrier? because the one I got it an open and the one that is on there now is lsd

well it takes some patience and shimming to get it correct each and every carrier are different dimensions and need to be set up differently. That is why it woud be easier and cheaper to find a new axle with carrier setup in it already and get a cheap lunchbox locker

I was at a body shop down in Phoenix last week and the guy had two TJ D44's sitting on a palate. I'm not sure what the ratio was, but the guy said he would sell them for $800 each. They looked complete if I remember correctly. I could dig up his number if you like.
On a side note, he's closing up shop and having an auction on 5/16/07, so if you want the D44, I'd act quickly!
